Hiya Ron. Even on preserved lines they display everyday working stuff that used to be in regular use, At Didcot they had a porters trolly parked full of luggage outside one of the buildings and at Bonness they had stuff on the platforms and even a loaded luggage van etc on display in the musium bit. It's party of the preservation projects to show how life used to be. I'll hopefully be doing similar things on my stations once I get going

That big barn should have space in front of it for vehicles to approach, Ron.

The area close to the nearest edge looks like a prime spot for something - a haystack maybe?

Or stockyards?

Hi Ron

Really enjoyed catching up with this layout.  Nice to see you have not tried to sqeeuze to much into the space you have and as a result it looks fantastic.  Something i need to consider for my next layout without a doubt.

My thoughts on your remaining space maybe an apple orchard?/ stream feature?

Hi Ron, what a lovely read… I've just read your thread from start to finish and I can't get my head round what you've achieved in just seven months… amazing!!… all I've done for the last seven months is a lot of thinking and made a start on a new panel.

I don't know how you do it… you just seem to identify a project, get stuck in and, a couple of days later, it's finished… seems to take me forever whilst you make it look so quick and easy… brilliant.

I read you'd been practising with route settings… did you get it sorted?  Made me think more about routes with my NCE and how the macros could be made to set the points one by one and then pull the signals one by one in the proper order, however, the NCE fires macros off very quickly and I'm not sure they can be slowed to a more prototypical (signalman doing it) kind of pace - maybe one macro to fire the points and then last thing that macro does is to fire off another macro to pull the signals might delay the rapid fire a little -  anyway, thanks for the prompt…..

Thanks Mike, yes I have 10 routes working. They need a bit of tweaking but I found them easy to set up and run. Still plenty of scenic's to do and I have a 'plank' I am working on too! need a name for that!?

Hope the 'plank' complies with Chubbers new Forum definitions… Name? as you live near there, how about 'LINKIN'

Am I going to the Spalding show this weekend? unfortunately not I've got a prior arrangement - apparently, to do with the family and the authorities have refused me a days leave of absence… she needs a driver…..

Started on the scenics, fixed the barn and the approach road.

Now going to look at Google Earth and look at the way farms buildings are placed to get the relationships between them right! (I hope!)

Bought and made one of these yesterday, I'm not sure quite colour to paint it though.

This is the footbridge at Weybourne, grey, light Blue or what??

Any suggestions? Could use the M&GN colours?

Cheers

The one at Weybourne is grey but I would paint it in M&GN Colours, similar to the signal box in the background.

The latice work in the light colour with the frame in the brown

Ron, I fitted one of those to my layout many years ago, If you check the height with the picture you will notice that they are way too high and looks that way on the layout, easily fixed though by cutting the pillars and the bottom of the steps.
