Station set on the North Norfolk coast.

Sounds expensive.

A USB at one side, what's at the other ?

Not a lot of bang for your buck. I wonder if there is a third party equivalent ?. Seems a bit steep. Never mind once SWMBO has finished the shopping there will be no cash left anyway. Sort of takes away the problem.:mutley

I'd hang fire in case anyone else knows of a work around.

The LocoBuffer-USB to connect my laptop to the Zephyr was about the same price Ron.

I may be wrong, but I think you will only be able to run the Gaugemaster software with the Prodigy.

Visited Bourton-on-the-Water model railway on Saturday, full of kids and it seemed a bit 'toy train'-ish although some of the stuff was good. Stopped in the shop and bought a couple of wagons and some more Kadee couplings. (still on trial!)

Also had to buy a camera as the lens mechanism failed on my Panasonic! Got a Canon IXUS which I'm still learning to use!

Some nice editions Ron. Shame about the camera packing in. The Ixus gets a good write up though. You'll enjoy that once you have mastered the basic controls and menu's.

Happy snapping.

I've decided not to go down the Kadee route on Weybourne, much too time consuming, lining it all up and a bit of a fiddle!
So staying with normal coupling and my home made decoupler for now. may try them on the envisaged plank at some stage though as the magnets work well!!

At least you tried Ron. It's not for everyone.

I'll be trying them myself and the plank will make the ideal testing ground as I will only need half a dozen wagons or so..

Once I've decided what ones to use, I'll check the back to back a gauge on them as well. ……. That'll be two firsts :mutley

Seems important to get the Kadee's at exactly the same height, they do a check gauge i believe?

They do, and from what the lads say it is an absolute must when setting the coupler height on the rolling stock.

I think it all comes down to you preferred method of running your railway. If shunting is your thing, and hidden uncoupling points, then Kadees are very popular.

But rule 1 applies. You can always go back and retrofit them once everything else is done should you wish.
