Station set on the North Norfolk coast.

Good to have you back Ron. Looking forward to the photos.

I've been on plenty of camps in my life but never an Astro camp! How many people attended?

Hi Marty, this was our local group meet, about 20 of us but next month I'm going to one in Norfolk (next to Weybourne station!) where about 800 turn up for 4 days of sky watching, it's really dark there and some come from France, Germany and beyond!
Looking forward to it already, will post some photo's during the week..

Cheers
Ron

Part of the North America nebula, I photographed last Saturday night from the star camp near Mablethorpe. This is 8x7 min exposures, stacked and processed in Photoshop. The two previous nights were cloudy!! We saw quite a few meterorites during the night and a great clear, dark sky!!

Just tried a bit of running and it seems I have a dead section of track trough the station! I need to investigate and sort it or not much will be moving!!

Cheers
Ron

This could be the culprit i think!!

I'd have put a piece of wire along the outside of that break, makes it easier to build up the solder to level with the top of the track, as is it could be a derailment waiting to happen.

That's easy, just make a quick pass with a slitting disc to just notch the rail surface without compromising electrical continuity

Ron you did not go right through the rail,I could see it had snapped at the bottom hence the solder job,I also like clickety clack:roll:
