Station set on the North Norfolk coast.

Thanks Mike, had this idea; a road junction at the bridge, grassy slope to the track and some low relief buildings on the road?
What do you think??

Thanks
Ron

Sounds like a plan, where will you put the scenic break (if any) could always disguise the fiddle yard as carriage sidings or loops for allowing express to overtake goods or local passenger.

Well, woke up early with lots of idea's spinning round in my head!
Plan now is:
NO scenic breaks either end and to incorporate the fiddle yard into carriage sidings/workshops etc.
Do some scenic work either end to 'blend' it in and perhaps add a point or two and a carriage shed?
Finish the farm at the far end and do a pub/garage scene at the other end (door/bridge).
Add signals etc…
What do you think??

Cheers
Ron

PS: Points and carriage shed ordered!

Just read your post, but since then the thread has been extended…

One option is to model an old siding, which has been cut off the main line… Perhaps a factory or a dairy building in the corner.

This is just an idea as Toto prompted me… ;-)

Cheers, Gary.

I was just reading the posts on the previous page Ron and was about to say a hill with some sort of road to give the bridge a reason for being there, and you beat me to it.

Now Gary's posted a disused siding with some sort of building, I dunno :hmm

I go with Gary on the corner. It's good to have the disused siding . Makes it look like there has been a previous life / history to it.  However, your scenics are good as well.

Not much help there then.

You could even make the building derelict with a couple of old rusting dairy tankers in the siding. The ground showing where the points were in its previous life but now lifted.

Go for it! No need to eliminate scenic breaks entirely, maybe a double sided scenic break in the corner at the door/bridge end, that would go some way to giving the impression that it's not a roundy roundy. A lift off diorama so that the bridge becomes the start of a short tunnelled section? You suggested a road from the bridge along the wall, instead of a grassy slope down to the track cover the area to a second break (bridge or tunnel mouth?) at the near end of the fiddle yard and put houses with gardens fronting the road along the wall, or allotments, a playing field/recreation ground, factory, school, whatever will suit the general theme of the layout.

Cheers MIKE

A bit more work done today, points arrived as did the fuel depot.
Got the plaster painted and the points fixed, just need a couple of 3' lengths to finish and some droppers soldering!
