Station set on the North Norfolk coast.

Hi Ron,

I'll look forward to the grass going down. Some reasonable expanses of grass fill the baseboards quite quickly . Gary done a tutorial on making grass applicators as well but you're already ahead of the game.

Cheers

Hi Ron,

Are you going to remove the lower brick section from the signal box and have it sit flat on the platform, as per Weybourne ??

Cheers, Gary.

No Gary, Rule 1 applies here! I've only based it on Weybourne not an exact copy but near enough for me! :):)

Today's efforts were to make the station more like the original. So, chopped the signal level to the platform and repainted (needs a bit more work!) and added a canopy to the main building and painted the valance in M&GNR colours.

Hi Ron,

I like all of the above but the photo of your DMU is really spot on. Quite an atmospheric shot.

Good stuff.

Just replaced a double 240v socket for one of these with 2 USB ports, handy for charging etc without using an adaptor!:)

Bit more done today (in between a beer or two in the sunny garden!)
Started on the RH corner and a bit more ballasting which will set overnight!

It's all coming on great Ron, I wish I could advance that quick.

I do like that first shot looking toward the bridge with the steep bank behind it. I look forward to the next update.

First real problem has reared it's head today! I ballasted some track yesterday and left it overnight to set, I checked it today and after cleaning the rails and hoovering up any oddments I decided to test run a train. It stopped on the point and when I tried to change the points direction the motor moved OK but the point did not 'lock' in either direction. It appears some ballast must have entered the spring mechanism of the point. I have removed it (eventually!) and it looks bad (see photo) so off to the model shop tomorrow for a new point. I'm glad I did not do more scenic work in that area apart from a crossing.

Back to the learning curve again!

Cheers
Ron
