Somewhere SW of London. Somewhen before today

Hi Rick. You cannot keep a good man down , as you probably know, the Southern is the busiest commuter rail line in the UK.   Best wishes Kevin Pre COVID-19

Looking marvellous Rick, this thread is a story of observation, memories and attention to detail.  Thoroughly enjoying it.

A busy moment captured from the road bridge. Two passenger trains. A Q1 waits the road to depart with vans. A solitary brake van is shunted with the shunter clearly indicating “stop” to the loco crew.

There is no angle available to completely eliminate the control panel from such a shot.

I'll second what Michael said. Just the right amount of detail.

Looking great Rick !
Re the control panel being in view, I wonder if you could do a blocky warehouse building with the side and part of the roof nearest the controller missing ?  Even if it was plonked over just for when your doing photos

Cheers

I think when the rest of the trees go in most of that corner will be hidden. Or hidden enough.

I'm with you on using trees to hide things. To be honest, the sight of the control panel is probably more annoying and noticeable to you, rather than the observer…. I was far too distracted looking at the wonderful scene.

I like the idea of the large building surrounding the control panel. Build it high enough to hide the panel, and have a roof section that can be added to cover the control panel when not in use or taking photos. Instead of a warehouse, how about a bus garage?

I'm with Michael on this… but a bus garage might fit in nicely.  :)

It's a great scene and I had hardly noticed the control panel either - until you pointed it out …………….. :thumbs

Not at all worth breaking a sweat over - IMHO.  :cool wink

Looks good! I didn’t notice it either until you pointed it out. A few bushes will hide it completely!
Great work.

I agree with Chris. The panel is hardly to been seen, so a few bushes will hide it completely.

Our schoolboy spotter might be hoping for a wave from the crew as large Standard tank 80005 arrives with a freight.

A schoolboy spotter at the fence (copping a different standard tank to yesterday’s), the geese are fed, an English Electric Type 1 (later known as class 20) departs for Bow with a load of stone. The Waterloo train hums to a stop in the platform while that tank patiently awaits its next shunt move.

A nice interesting scene there Rick. I see the man in the allotment hasn't thrown the schoolboy out yet.

Cheers Pete.

The Fawley oil tanks arrive double-headed by a pair of BRCW Type 3 (class 33) locos for insurance

M7 duty shunt loco 30108 hooks on to the rear and will remove the brake van.

Easter Region motive power, a pair of English Electric Type 1 (class 20) locos, will take the train on to its destination.

Looking good Rick. Now to pick your brains. As I've decided to go Southern, LSWR etc, is the round water tower OK?

Cheers Pete.
