Somewhere SW of London. Somewhen before today

Hi Rick.  Excellent as usual. Which reminds me I always end up in the third class of model Railways. Seeing your fence/ platform support combined I went for the first thing that I saw similar principle as your fence, it may be a long time in going up? The mind is willing but the knees are weak, no running up and down the stairs anymore. I don’t believe it I have my personal lift/ elevator but it is out order and I don’t see a queue forming to fix it.    Best wishes Kevin

The bees are back!

Fans of Penhayle Bay may recall it had a farm scene including beehives and keepers. That board was sold for further use by a fellow Aussie modeller.

Having obtained another pack of hives / keepers I am delighted to announce that Waddlemarsh also has a patch of green. Staff allotments are planned. The bees are back!

Steam-smoked honey as well.
I’ll post an overall view when it’s progressed a bit. The area is rather bigger than seen above.

A little more work on the staff allotment patch today. Hedges and groundwork are in. The hives and beekeepers are fixed in place. There’s gorse in flower for tasty honey.

It’s time to start the final detailing and populating the layout. The shunter’s hut has had some groundwork added including provision of a bin (and an old milk churn!). We have caught a moment in time with one chap oiling his bike rather than the duty locomotive while his colleague has been attending to another sort of duty altogether ;-)

In a flurry of activity (all of two five-minute sessions with the paints) I have removed the ability to use this corner of the board as a workbench. Can you tell what it is yet?  Here’s a hint - at least one Penhayle Bay favourite is set to reappear.

Yes - I reckon it's the beach again.  A very impressive scene on Penhayle.   :thumbs

I third that: it is definitely the beach scene.

Some very nice detailing there, Rick.

Hi Rick.  If you are feeling homesick, I reckon that that it could be a funicular Railway down to the beach.Best wishes Kevin

Interesting timings with Ricks post as this flashed up on my phone of reference photos of Penhayle vs progress at Teasel from two years ago.

So …..

Not a beach …..

More colours added. Browns, greens, even a blue. Some mixed wet, some dry-brushed on.
