Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout
Hi Chris. Congratulations! Could you please tell me, when the competition is called a “Box File “ comp. what do they actually mean? I imagined that it was built in a box file. Best wishes Kevin

As I said earlier, the subject you chose was inspiring - bang up to date and with a brilliant message.
I hope the prize is worth all the effort - a huge voucher for GEMR wasn't it ? …………………..

So Litter junction won the box file competition. That was very unexpected as there were some amazing entries, there were two entries which I thought would be fighting for first place. Litter Junction won by a clear 22 votes.

Today I got a sneaky few hours to myself as my son had a birthday party to attend. I spent the time finishing the sea wall and steps for the harbour.

Painted and added some greenery and some water effect for the channel. I need to paint the boat holder-me-bobs and weather the chain to fit. The rope is there to see what will work best. Still need to find some small fishing boats.

The weather should soon improve and make time in the shed much more comfortable and the modelling even more pleasurable.
Best,
Bill
At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Hi Chris,Had a reshuffle. Looks much better now, allowing access to the terminal line both in/out. Makes the line a little shorter but I think will still fit a three car DMU… just.

Yours was a very interesting situation not unlike the one I've been wrestling with on my "Project Green Light". What looks like a perfectly good working solution of a combination of various points and double slips ends up still not permitting a specific flow in one direction. There must be some planners' secret book with working combinations they could draw to build complex station approach plans because like you my first effort looked right but had one dead path.
Maybe these guys faced similar issues?
Double slip planners nightmare
We could almost run a caption competition for the best comment from the guy, fourth from left here, manager perhaps, clearly not a worker; assuming something's not quite right here.
Or again the old hand over to the right, e.g. "eh lads, I knew twern't right when you put this mess down, shudda listened!"

Thanks, still got the fan heater on in there!Your time in the garage was well spent Chris, as the sea wall looks great and the weathering to the sand and water outflow looks most authentic.

That picture is a nightmare of a spaghetti of track! I think the plan now provides the best layout for my running needs.TeaselBay wrote:Hi Chris,Had a reshuffle. Your station approach track work looks the business too. I haven't finalised my plan yet, but I have plenty of time to worry about that.

Easily made by layering it up, I then filed down the sides to smooth it out.

The look good made up, but really come out once painted.
