Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout

Added a little sand to tie in the steps and a bit of tidying up. Managed to source another blue/grey Bachmann mk2. They seem so different to get hold of!

Looks even better with the sand. Amazing what a difference the details make.

Cheers Pete.

A lovely touch Chris…. that is just how I remember the seaside: sand getting everywhere.

Evening all.
So I’ve finally got my garage back after it got filled while work was done in the house.

A few tourists have taken advantage of the warm sunny weather.

The deckchairs are a brass kit from Langly models and I made the windbreaks myself from some painted masking tape.

Teasel Bay station finally got some station signage. These were made and printed by asis3D who make custom made signs.

A little bit of painting brings them to life.

Glad you have the garage back, I have missed the TB updates.  The tourists look great, but the signs are even better.  Beautifully finished too.  Great job!

What a pain, losing half the railway room... sorry, garage. Nice work again with the scenery. Those deck chairs must have been fiddly things to put together. The signs are impressive too. I wonder what other surprises are up your sleeve.

Cheers Pete.

Hi Chris.  Terrific workmanship, alas I don’t have the room to build a station on my layout/ plank. But I have a small platform for train staff to catch the train back to the station. when it gets built, and painted.  Best wishes Kevin

Has anyone ordered from the Railway Conductor Model Shop before? I ordered coaches from them, coming up to a month ago. They have taken payment and since then other than complaining their stock is in crates I’ve heard nothing! Dreadful service, I’d recommend avoiding!
Hi Chris.  What with Plato? And now “ Socrates”, model Railways are getting more serious. Best wishes Kevin

I always enjoy yours posts too.  Now the clocks have changed being in the garage is far more appealing!

Haha. Surprises, I’m as surprised as you are. Haha. I am pretty happy with the signs. Took me ages to find what I wanted. They had to be right.

I decided I didn’t quite like the steps down to the beach. The wooden structure just didn’t sit right.

So today during some rather boring meetings I built and painted a new set using some off cuts and left over bits. I think the stone steps are more fitting for the main way down to the beach.

Waste not want not… I moved the original set down the wall slightly. I think they suit a less used section more.

I’ve also decided to make a change to the small dock area. Originally I considered having it full but looking at Michaels amazing muddy river I’ve taken a leaf out of his book and am building up a small muddy bank to sit some boats on.

Welcome back Chris and good to see you modelling again.

Still admiring that H van.

Best,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Exactly. Chris I am in the same boat as you, not being able to purchase over the counter. But either phoning or emailing and then paying for post and packing, especially when the item may cost less  . And there is so much that I need to put life onto my plank.  Best wishes Kevin

Added some fencing around the mill. Added some coiled wire to the end to represent barbed wire to stop people sneaking around the side.

I’ve got some more wire so I can continue to make some more fencing.

Ive also got a new cottage from my favourite GEM, which I think looks nice at the top of the station road. At the moment it’s sat directly on foam board without scenery. For now at least.
