Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout

ID do one with what looks like villages in the background and a couple of industrial types but that's it.

I saw that but it looks a little boring and repetitive?

I suppose hills and open countryisde are much easier to photograph than urban scenes - especially as I'd want mine to be taken around 1950 - 1960 …………………

I think it's going to be difficult - even to make one up from random cut-outs …….. :hmm

Just try to imagine a very poor version of Picasso and you'd have some idea ……

Haha. I think I’m in a similar boat when it comes to painting a picture. I can do rocks but when it comes to a flat piece it would look nothing like what I planned!

I thought I'd try out and build a cattle grid on the entrance for Farmer Jacks farm yard. I cut our a hole in the Scuplatmold/foam and painted the base. The metal supports are cocktail sticks stick into the sides.

It might be a little small but I think I'll get away with it as its going to be at the back.  Eventually there will be some fencing around it and an access gate on the left hand side.

Hi Chris.  When the lockdowns are over, and live Railway Shows are back, will you be going on the road with“Teasel Bay”?   Best wishes Kevin

A bit more work tonight adding more static grass in the farm area.

Started adding some hedging and some brambles in front.

I’ve also added some Woodland Scenics water ripples, just to break up the perfectly flat river.

All coming together very nicely.  The little hump back bridge looks great in the setting too.  It's amazing how starting to get the greenery down transports the scene, it is a proper countryside view now

The hump bridge is from my favourite (and yours now) Scale model
scenery!

Finally the scene placed where it will sit. You can see the track bed for the upper layer as well as the Christmas lights which I haven’t yet removed as they make everywhere a little lighter!

A few modifications required on its supports to drop the left hand side. This evenings job I think. The visible hole is where the track will drop down under the railway. This will need to be added to finish off Farmer Jacks track.

I’m looking forward to doing when Farmer Jacks tulips regrow!

Imagine being next to the babbling stream and then hearing the thunder of the HST roaring past.

With the forecast of -10 this evening, all stock has been moved away from the garage door and under a blanket of paper sheets left over from our move 4 years ago.
Anyone else move their stock when the weather gets too cold?

Hi Chris.  You will be turning the baseboard into a “tramp” , but at least it won’t freeze. Best wishes Kevin

Not sure what you mean Kevin? I don't think the temperature in the garage will drop below zero but I thought it was wise to take a precaution!

Hi Chris.  Thank you for your reply. As I understand it, tramps would wrap their self in newspapers place of blankets. Best wishes Kevin
