Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout

I did a mix of brown and blue pigment.
I put a drop of brown in first with a wooden stirrer and then added the blue. I was initially shocked as a drop of blue transformed the resin fair too quickly. I then spent the rest of the time adding brown to bring it back to murky rather than paradise water! I am amazed as to how little blue pigment was needed! Beware of the blue when you pour yours!

That looks great Chris. I know how nerve wracking pouring the resin can be......wish I had thought about a glue gun when I did my pour:roll::oops:

I cut out the overflow and refit the mill while in a meeting this morning.

There will be no more progress today as I’m not leaving this couch after a 2 1/2 hour root canal treatment.

That's great - it's going to look excellent.  Has it cured?  if so, that is nice and quick.

It was pretty hard this morning but had some play. At this point I cut off the bits I didn’t want, where it had flooded over. It is fully cured after 24 hours, so it’s rock hard now.

Are you talking about this canal's roots being treated or your own ?
If the former - it looks brilliant.  If the latter - ouch !  Hope it wasn't too bad but such things always warrant a couch.

What a difference some ‘grass’ makes. Instantly changes the scene!

The blue background of the dining room really makes me think the next thing to do should be a back scene. Even if it’s just painted plain blue. Really helps set the scene.

Are you going to paint a backscene on the dining room wall?  :) :)
Great work by the way.

I envy your doing it so well. Whenever I try for water it seems to disappear somewhere into the river beds

Cheers

The grass really does transform things.  It looks great - I like the range of colours - and lengths too?  Suddenly the mill is in a landscape and it looks very much at home.  It even makes the river stand out even better.  Great job!

Ha. I’m not sure the wife would appreciate painting the wall! Haha.

I made sure the Sculptamold looked pretty contained, and dammed the end with some packaging plastic with hot glue. I also had the glue gun ready during the pour, I had to make two temporary dams, quite quickly!

Yeah, it is a mix of multiple colours and lengths depends on where I thought it would look best. Tonight’s job is to add ripples and the small waterfall.

A backscene is what makes just a model into "real", check out ID Backscenes Chris :)
