Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout

The lobster pots were a little fiddly but a fun little build.

Adding the tops was a two part process to ensure they stuck nicely over the top.

These are the finished pots. I gently squeezed them while they were wet while painting so they were far less square. I’m pretty happy with them to add to the small harbour.

Shhh don’t tell the boys that I’ve ‘borrowed’ one of their Lego blocks and glued it to hold the bottom of the bridge arch in place after I accidentally snapped the links.

They look great Chris.  you have convinced me!  SMS also do mooring rings, so I might add those to my order.  I will be honest I have had a bit of a mixed experience with SMS stuff.  Some things I ordered were distinctly ordinary, but I filled my warehouse with their crates, which were great.

I have to say your lobster pots are very glue free…. I may not be able to show mine off: Small, Fiddly, and Glue usually spells a bit of a disaster for me!

They look brilliant Chris - well done - they do look incredibly fiddly.

You'd probably get a voucher for a whole box of Lego if you send that snap to Billund - just tell them Lego gets everywhere and is an integral part of life !!!

Hi Chris.  Back to a non related topic or two. On the subject of Weathering, it  is okay if one has a steady hand and plenty of patience, experience too, as for building the kits in the first place, I am keeping up with my exercises at least by walking back upstairs again, but the latest kits that I have purchased (4 ) were recommended to me as being straight forward (Dapol C40 Presflo) , having put the wheels in place, how do I paint around them without clogging the axles . Best wishes Kevin

I’ve never weathered a loco yet Kevin! Everything I’ve weathered is meant to look bad so I get away with it!!!!

Need a little weathering on the ropes but other than that I think I’ve completed the lobster pots.

Also added some cages for storage.

Wow, what a lovely cameo scene Chris, but where are the lobsters?

Best,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

He's had a terrible catch today and has resorted to sitting on the rocks and playing his squeeze box.

Cheers Pete.

Hi Chris. Now that we have left the EEC.? or whatever they call it now, the.seafood market has been hit, and they put it down to the extra paperwork which may cut the price on the home market. Best wishes Kevin

I wouldn't worry about Teasel's fishermen. They sell their produce locally. I need to find a suitable kit, but I plan to have a little fish stall on the sea wall. Also there are building regulations going through for a fish & chip shop on the hill!

Hi Chris.  Thank you for your reply, during the lockdown I have doing a lot of lurking on my iPad where I should have been working on my Railway Project. And somewhere I have seen a fish and chips shop with lighting including signage. Best wishes Kevin

It may have snowed here on Saturday but it snowed at Teasel Bay this evening!

A standard covering of Sculptamold to bring out the river bed and the terrain.

Annoying ran out of Sculptamold before I could finish.

I too saw your photo online Chris - when I did I thought  "hey - I know that scene" !  It is a brilliant little cameo although I'm not too sure what the fisherman is up to - changing his hand warmer for either a lobster pot or, better still, a fishing net being repaired would make it as near to perfect as one could get for me.
