Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout
Hi Chris. Going off on a tangent as I often do and getting into trouble for it. I am looking at back gardens, as seen by drivers of suburban trains 🚞 for my current project . There are plenty of whole house kits and low relief but the driver of a train doesn’t see the fronts. Have you seen or thought about back garden kits for your Railway Best wishes Kevin

As Peter said, both Hornby and Bachmann do a set of low relief buildings. They are costly however as they are resin. For a cheaper option you could print your own onto card. I’ve not tried it, Michael is the card kit expert!!

Thanks JohnIt is , indeed, "coming along nicely." I think it looks great…..I particularly like the way the track blends with the cliffs as though its been there since Victorian times

"Hot and humid" I'd gladly swap, its cold and heading to dark at 4pm. It requires a lot of motivation to head into the dark to the garage now and wait for the little heater to warm it up….. Enjoy your summer months while they last!Yes it is coming along nicely… more nicely than mine. I thought I'd make good headway over winter, but I think it missed us this year and now it's getting hot and humid again.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

I also think it's of note that the person walking down the platform seems to be ignoring the 2 minutes silence …………….. That often happens and I feel like tapping them on the shoulder to remind them of the date and time.
Here in France, it's always on THE day and a public holiday. May 8th is also a public holiday - V.E.Day. It does rather annoy me that the UK Government isn't prepared for the nation to give up a days work in honour of all those who "gave their today for our tomorrow" ………..

No problem. As previously stated it is very important this year with the lack of parades to remember.Hi Chris, as a veteran of 33 year service, I thank you for the work you have put into your fantastic scene of the memorial service. It's very much appreciated!

Thanks, I felt rather under pressure when you said somewhere you were looking forward to seeing the completed scene. I hope it meets expectations!Yes indeed! A super little scene both in the modelling and the sentiment it shows. Well done Chris!

Doesn’t matter about the lady who isn’t taking part in the silence. It isn’t compulsory, nor should it be. People take part because they want to take part, which is fine by me.That's excellent Chris - and your timing is spot on - I've just been watching the service at the Cenotaph.

This year the bank holiday was moved so we could celebrate VE Day.. but the year had different plans! I agree, a bank holiday on the 11th would be nice but I’d guess it’ll just become a big shopping day to start pulling in Christmas trade….

Mrs L and I have been remembering some of our families' loved ones lost during the two wars. On researching my mum's brother, after whom I was named, we discovered only yesterday that his destroyer was sunk in the North Atlantic in 1942 by a U-Boat with all souls lost, including 76 crew members rescued from an American transport vessel which had been sunk by the same U Boat. Brutal. Respect to poor uncle Bill of just 22 years, together with all lost heroes killed in conflict, while making the world a safer place for the rest of the planet.
Thank you again Chris, your statement is much appreciated.
Best,
Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)
