Oriented Strand Board, I've seen it, but I'll have to try and remember what it's called. Can you not get MDF over there?

I have managed to occasionally login to see the progress of Teasel Bay, but it is nice now to take a bit of time to look properly.  Great to see the extension coming along, it is going to look great when you use your magical ability to make smallish spaces look huge.  The APT is super - what a flashback.  I remember watching a documentary about the design and building of it - quite fascinating that BR had two competing divisions designing high speed trains.  
It looks great running through TB though.

That is good. Glad you liked the updates. Did you see I finally committed and did the sea using resin. I’m disappointed I’ve completed it now though, I want to do it again!

Sorry Kevin for the late reply. I’ve not made it back into the garage until this evening. Been a busy week at work. 

The return loop at the back of the garage is 2.5 meters wide with a depth of about 1.5 meters, with a gap in the middle to allow access…. Which is never always required!!!! :Red Card The rest of Teasel squeezes in to the just over 5 meters in length of the garage. 

More room than some, so I’m lucky! Unlimited space would be nice though… with an unlimited budget to match! Haha

I certainly did - it's why I was keeping a check when I could - and a very fine job you have made of it.  You make it look very easy!

Teasel Bay has always been a favourite layout of mine, but it has really come alive, which is why I'm looking forward to seeing how the extension will all develop.

Most of this evening was spent track cleaning!  The Class 08 takes on this duty quite nicely as it has a stay alive fitted and is geared so it very happy to run slowly. At one point the Class 08 nearly caught up and collided with the APT while testing low speed running!

Hi Chris.   Thank you for your reply. Your mention of work, oh how I miss going to work, really, having something to do and a schedule to work to. I would get more done. Quite the opposite now though. I spend most of the time thinking about plans. Best wishes Kevin

It keeps me busy. Had meetings from 8:30 in the being with Sydney so was unable to play!   I can imagine once retiring you have to really keep yourself busy Kevin. Any progress on your layout?

Been teaching the youngest how to drive today. They enjoyed it!

Hi Chris.  I have to do the background, I have one of them photographic jobs but,I don’t like the idea of pasting it on plywood. As soon as I figure that one out and get some grass down and put the fence up I will be “cooking with gas” ,some trackside buildings etc. By that time with some inspiration I will be nearer to finishing. Today the eldest wanted a go, so we did some advanced driver training on the main layout!
After about 10 minutes he was pretty good. He did obviously test the APT at its maximum speed, which I had not done yet!! It goes like a pocket rocket maxed out. A scale speed of about 200mph!

Ha ha, I know someone else, who will remain nameless that has the same problem.

A bit of planning on the 009 layout tonight to rein back my imagination into the available space!





The plan is a simple loop with a island station (bottom right), with a loco shed and small siding for detail.  You can see how it will wrap around the upper mainline.

I look forward to learn more about your 009 section. Wombat Creek is mainly about trams, but the town will eventually have a small narrow gauge railway serving the gold mines and their affiliated industries like a saw mill and an explosives factory.
