Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout
Mk2 of the upper level seems to be going better. Still a long way to go but the test runs are positive, no derailments at this time.
It may be quite a sharp turn but it’s going to be a nice view eventually.

Happy new year to everyone who is remotely interested in reading about Teasel Bay. Hope you all have a great new year with your modelling projects!
Maybe even the Hornby APT which I’ve had on order for two years will arrive! Haha

I did order the Norwich/Liverpool blinds but I got the wrong one and could t be bothered to change! The Norwich / Liverpool passes just down the road and is a pretty long trip! My mum takes it from Liverpool and forgets her suitcase on the train… but that’s another story! HahaThat's looking excellent Chris - I didn't realise Leeds was so close to the coast ………………….

Apart from Kevin (off Home Alone) who is riding on the wagons, these don’t look the right scale for Teasel… or are they! More to follow shortly.

And today a rather fetching teeny train arrived, in the form of a Bachmann Double Fairlie.

A very nice runner straight out of the box. Currently running in on the test circuit. There is a tiny DDC chip in there as well! The plan is the a tourist railway in the top corner of the bay. Now I just need to decide on a new station name!!

I look forward to your progress with the narrow gauge. I have planned one for Wombat Creek, but it has to wait until I have enough space to extend the layout.

Indeed it does! Very very smooth! From what I've read, these are very well made and run like a Swiss watch. Not to mention how good it looks.

Work started on semi-permanent bridge 2.0. As 1.0 was built with haste mainly to provide a level between the right (Teasel Bay) and left (the eventual build of Norcott Station).
2.0 will not have be a scenic section, given the todo list I have it will be this way for a while! The bridge had to be wide enough for two tracks and removable to allow easy access to the garage.

The original holding points were removed as they were only secured through MDF. They are now connected to the main supports. The bridge can now take my weight, so I think that’s secure enough for a few trains!

To ensure safety of running stock I added a small lip to catch any derailments before the concrete floor does!

Makes a big difference now I don’t have to fear for the life of any test movements between the two!!

Not sure how visible it is on photos but there is a subtle cant to the curve. I wanted to help the faster stock navigate the curve which is stealer than I’d have liked as you can see by the overhang of the Class 156, but space is always at a premium!

I quite liked this birds eye view, showing how the mainline sits into the existing scenery. Also shows a 2nd radius curve which I use to ensure I don’t over bend the flex when prototyping!
