Early construction of a simple 00 garage layout
That’s a good idea. I’m usually watching or following some steps at the same on my phone! But taking photos as I go is a grey idea.

Chris, any old phone or tablet will do ? As long as it has a camera. I have an old 32 bit Ipad which is no longer supported by Apple, But it has a decent Camera on it which I use when I'm taking stuff apart, and if your dealing with small hard to see bits it has a pretty decent zoom on it which allows you to Get close in. Also has a notepad app on so I can keep notes as I'm going. I Just keep it by my work area :thumbsThat’s a good idea. I’m usually watching or following some steps at the same on my phone! But taking photos as I go is a grey idea.
Cheers

I had to give my old laptop back to work when I left, which meant I had to source a new laptop for Railmaster and my software. New work lock their laptops down far more so I could install Railmaster but I’ve decided against it. I’ve sourced a new laptop but Railmaster doesn’t seem to be available on the Hornby website. I’ll have to drop them a message, unless someone has a copy they could send me!
Teasel came third in the Hornby photo of the year, which was pleasantly unexpected. Haystack for them to use the photo at all was rather nice. A little package arrived last week with a Scalesdale pub, a waggon and a centenary pen. That was also very nice of them.
I managed to sneak into the garage on Sunday to get a few photos for the 3rd Virtual Model show. I wasn’t as prepared as normal. I must try harder again next year! The low sun provided some nice light though.

Well done and Happy Christmas.

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Looking at the photos I desperately want to finish the backscene to hide the brickwork. I think it’ll make a very big difference for photos etc.Great work Chris and grats on the third from Hornby. Come on then whats next on Teasel ?? :hmm
Cheers

After that in my head I’ve been planning Norcott station, which will be a rather different build to Teasel Bay station. Especially since I’m planning centenary. All in early planning at the moment though!

The real issue is a lag in the chipboard. It was laid quite early on in the development of Teasel. Here is a photo from the archive.

Time to make a brace to sit underneath to support it, and then hopefully test runs will be more successful!

Fantastic pictures as always :doublethumb
Merry Xmas
Roger
EDIT 12/12 I remember now why I got stuck with 6mm even though I wanted to change to 9mm for newer sections it was because the bulk of my point motors (some 60+) then were Peco and the pins had been cut to suit
Since I left the hobby for a short time I sold everything, including the point motors and changed gauge hence everything has been allowed to reset for a fresh start.
I realise now your picture was from when you first constructed Teasel, not now so you are stuck for the time being with that chipboard so as I think you mentioned all you can do is re-enforce it from underneath, hope it works :)

I hope you get your high level roadbed braced enough to give good express running. Sealing the chipboard should help combat movement due moisture swelling from increased humidity levels in the garage, as well as winter / summer temperatures. If not, as Roger suggested, plywood should make a marked improvement and ideally should also be sealed on all sides, preferably in a warmer season.
How did your trip to Great Eastern Models go and did you get any Colbolt point motors?
Happy Christmas and Merry Modelling,
Bill

Funny you should say that. I've been getting sporadic emails from more than one forum just lately.I didn’t get any emails from YMRC to say anyone had commented. I was pleasantly surprised when I came can to the forum to see people had and very positively too! Thank you.
Not sure where the emails had disappeared too though!?
Cheers Pete.

I always like your "special event" features. This years Xmas tableau was one of the best. Spectacular lighting…..very eye catching.
Congratulations on third place with Hornby…….looking forward to seeing how you incorporate your pub prize into Teasel Bay.
Best wishes
