Branch Line - Roundy, roundy with some shunting
Fortunately it's an integral garage and the temperature never drops to zero, but if there's a chilly south westerly it's bl@@dy cold around the ankles. When my hands start to go blue I know it's time to pack up and go back indoors
Very odd weather today. Pouring with rain this morning and sunny and very pleasant this afternoon, so wiring done, switch soldered and all tested.

I put a medium radius point in (Peco SL-E95) instead of the short radius ones which formed the crossover and I think it actually looks better now anyway.
Just need to replace the ballast and build another platform surface, and I'm back where I started.

How did the wire in tube 'S' bend go? Nice and smooth?

The medium point looks better and should work better I reckon. It`s much easier for rolling stock to pass through the mediums.

The GEM wire in tube with a bend is OK Max, but the tube has to be as rigid as possible to prevent any flexing, due to the small amount of movement of the slide switch. A lever and/or omega wire, where the movement is a bit more adjustable would be better, but then I'd need a micro switch against the tie-bar to switch frog polarity.
I've laid the medium point nearer the curve Gormo, whereas the crossover was at the platform ends. I'm hoping it allows a bit more space for a loco to run around the train on platform one and recouple at this end without blocking the point, so that another train can then run in to platform two.
Shunters tested Marty :thumbs, you should be able to see the Jinty 'hiding' behind the coach in the first picture. It's funny how there always seems to be one loco that everyone uses to initially test, in my case the Railroad Jinty.
Of course, if I'd listen to the advice given on here in the first place and used electrofrogs from the outset, I wouldn't have now had all these problems. But on the other hand, it probably wouldn't have been such a challenging learning experience.

Not fixed down yet and may need trimming, as I need to redo the ballasting where the old cross over came out and the new medium radius point was installed.

It`s coming along again. Those platform surfaces look really good. Will you have a fence along the back of the island platform or will both faces of that platform pick up passengers.???

There's a wall to go along that side of the platform, which I was about to put in when everything went pear-shaped.
Just need a few bright, less windy days, so I can finish replacing the ballast and then the wall can go in and I'll be back where I started about a month ago.

The PVA mix takes ages to dry in this cold weather and some days it's too cold anyway to start messing about spraying water around in the garage

By the by, my eldest son (who isn't a railway modeller) came round a few weeks ago and said "when are you putting the wires (OHLE) up" ?
Makes you think, change of era, :hmm
Now where did I see that picture of a single track branch line with catenary

Might be worth looking into though Ed???…would it work with DCC……well actually would you be able to run all your stock on the same track with the over head wires.????
