00 gauge end to end
The start of a new layout got the base boared built , It has cost me nothing in materials all recycled the base is a hollow door 78"x30" (198cm x76cm) with a extension on one end which is one of those floating shelves screwed and glued frame work is 2x2 wood that was left in the loft off the previous layout and a pair of old curtains as a screen .The controller is a hornby HM 2000 that has been up in the loft for the past 10yrs which still works . Doing this on a budget so some track is new and some pre-owned off ebay , I have two locos both lima and a Hornby class 25 on it,s way .

I'm quite amazed at the amount of trackwork you can get on an old door without it looking over crowded.

It is a Superquick kit John with a bit care and patience they turn out a nice model , instructions are a bit confusing more wordy and a lack of diagrams .

I've found the Metcalfe ones much the same, which is why one bit of my retaining way parapet was upside down

Looking forwards to watching your build off the back of an old door. You’ve made a good start.
