A layout with a difference.

Mainly rural Gray, with a bit of a twist later.

A bit more done in the left hand corner.

Going to need level crossing gates here.

A clue to what goes here.

The big boys are moving in.
Watch this space.

I sourced some N-scale vehicles from N-gauge Models www.ngaugemodels.com but they might not wish to ship overseas in the present regime.  If they don't and there's something an overseas member can't get any other way we can probably come to some arrangement.  Though I cannot be responsible for any import charges which seems to be half of the problem these days.

Should look good on the layout whatever theme you go with. I think I saw the full set on Ali express for about £30, I just bought the back hoe version today £3.90 plus shipping.

The big boys need somewhere to play so some terra forming is needed.

Pretty rough at the moment, still needs more work.

Quarrying has begun.
stil more work needed but you get the general idea.

Is it a quarry, what type of material is being dug out.
Can you get your hands under there in case of a derailment.
Good use of the space and will like to see it progress.

The quarry will probably just be used to provide ballast for railway and road repairs.

Derailments in tunnels are my speciality so the whole quarry can be lifted off.

Quarry liftout section.
The plastic sheet I get from Bunnings, a large handy man and garden supplies bussiness here in Oz.

It can be cut with scissors or a sharp craft knife and is easily glued with a hot glue gun or even super glue.

Well it didn't take long to get to this point …………….

I think you may need to adjust the white balance on your camera John - looks very "Fuji-colour" from here……………….:07rolleyes_2:

Hi John,

I just noticed that's set-track. Are you depending on rail joiners for electrickery? What's the story behind the blue diesels? NA imports?

Hi Ed, Peter and Nigel,

The 2 blue locos are Kato SD45,s fitted with sound decoders.
I bought them about 5 years ago from a deceased estate for $100.
I got all the mobile plant thrown in.

The track is a mixture of Peco set track and flexi.
There is a main bus with droppers from each section.
The Turntable is a non powered Peco kit I got on E Bay and all the storage tracks off the turntable are powered by " The hand of God ".

I am mainly a collector of loco,s , mainly 00 and N but recently I did an Ed and bought this.

3.5 INCH PRINCESS MARINA
PRINCESS MARINA TENDER.
Truly a moment of madness but it was a bargain I could not pass up.
Absolutely no idea what I am going to do with it but my 2 sons are both very keen to get it going again sometime in the next year or so.

PS,
Sorry Peter, I forgot about the camera.

I use my Galaxy smart phone, the " smart " only applys to the camera not the user and my only skill is point and shoot.

Sound like a good idea for a " tutorial ".

PPS,

There,s not much difference between " N " and 3.5 Inch gauge except the weight.
