Still got track to cut and join and bus wiring to connect up…
West end needs to be raised and levelled and the track joined…
Almost there…

Right, the sun is out and I need to get dressed and take the bride out shopping and then to a restaurant. The dog house isn't that bad, but it's good to get out in the sunshine!
Bill :)
PS A shirt button Grange with a rake of five assorted Hawksworths . . . bien cool!
At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Well done mate!!!:thumbs:thumbs:thumbs:thumbs
I do like that control panel….I`ve said it before but I reckon that`s a little ripper with the point levers on top there….great stuff.
If I was re-doing my manual system I would copy your idea….too late now…..next time.

Very glad to get the plank in place, unfortunately there will be a short delay while the house is made presentable for incoming relatives!
Including the layout room, which serves, with its bunk bed workstation, as a spare bedroom for my nephew. Actually it's not all bad, the layout room was way overdue for a tidy and vacuum.
A last burst before bed last night has seen Gary's adjustable plank support idea successfully implemented and the plank is now level and aligned.
Cheers

Pottering away in Bodgit and Scarpers workshop at the back of the garden making a "rack" for the multiple power boards that are littering the layout room floor at the moment. Thought it better to reduce the risk of the Nephew electrocuting himself in the tangle.
Photos in due course.
cheers

Your items from Liverpool may well reach Oz faster than some of the styrene tube I'm still waiting for ordered from flebay, as it's not relying on a container ship from China

Lookin` good as usual……..I agree with Ed, best not to fry the small fry…….do you think he will be running trains when the rest of the house is asleep?????

The family have arrived and settled in. Nephew hasn't been driving trains overnight, mainly because the layout power is disconnected while the plank gets installed. That and the fact that sleep for a 14 year old is an art form not to be trifled with.
Nor has he managed to electrocute himself as the cobbled together power rack was finished 30 mins before they arrived…
Much tidier, quite pleased with it, for a bush job….
38 deg here today, going to go for a swim and then get back into the final wiring and track fettling to get trains running. All the points are operational and most of the LEDs are doing their thing on the control panel. One of the relays is buzzing when activated which says to me that there is too much power being applied so I'll hunt around for a power pack with a little less oomph than the 6A one I'm using
Updates as we go along.

Relays buzz not because of a high power supply like the 6A but either low or high voltage so what are the relays voltage input rated at & what is your power supply rated at in voltage and is it regulated?

Your power stack would be ideal for the 14 year old. By the time he plugs in the phone, ipad, laptop, Nintendo, dvd player etc you may have one plug left for the layout to run.
