Thanks mate, I know you like 'em grubby so the 37 was weathered just for you.
A little overdone I feel but the dark splodges on the roof are just a thin wash of acrylic that does rub off and there was a dusting of powders too. Which also brushes off.
I reckon I'll dust a bit off and try and make her not quite so manky!
Cheers

I think they blend into the scenery better if nice and dirty. Your images are always so convincing and it's down to a mix of fantastic scenery and not having loco's that look like they are straight out of the works.
Always happy to view more.

Having a lot of fun with the relays Gormo, as you say, useful little gizmos.
There has been an enforced slow down in the layout room due to not only a dose of the flu but also a short and temporary loss of consciousness as a consequence of standing up to fast when you have said flu.
I've never passed out before and it was an interesting experience. One moment feeling totally crappy and dizzy and then waking up on the ground in the coma position, no pain, no dizziness, with my wife on the phone for an ambulance! Just happy to lie there while other people sorted things out!
I was incredibly lucky that T had been supporting me when I stood and managed to guide me gently enough to the ground as I collapsed in her arms. Then the SES first aid training kicked in. Incredible woman, love her to bits.
A litre of fluids intravenously and a few tests, then a pat on the head and off home to suffer through it.
So, I'm in that unenviable position of being in the same house as the layout room with things to do and a wish to do them but am spending a lot of time sleeping and when I am awake, lacking in brain power to do anything about it.
Nasty thing this flu, I've been avoiding it for years but it got me this time. Next year I'll be getting my jabs.
Still, on the up I think, might manage some layout time in the next day or so while I recover… That will be in between tending to T as she has come down with it too now.
Lads, if you haven't had your jabs, I reckon a day off feeling slightly of colour is better than a week with this monster.
Cheers

I might try some trees… They don't take much brain power.

I had a bout some years ago and it kept me in bed for three and a half days. Not a lot of fun
Could be an opportunity to catch with all that reading (railway related or otherwise) that you've always meant to do, but never found time to get around to.
Hope you both have a speedy recovery.

I agree with you, regarding the 'jab', it's well worth it. My employer gives it out yearly and I was not that fond of it originally, but now, I doubt I'd go without it.

On the up now, only need to sleep half the day!
Managed a pine tree of sorts.
Best guess is that the twig is from the base of an old Rosemary bush, here given a coat of modge podge to seal it…
Then, working from the bottom up, dabs of pva on the branch and tufts of Woodland Scenic's Conifer Foliage. I use scissors to cut a suitably sized lozenge of foliage and the tease it out with tweezers. Once dry scissors are used to snip away any unwanted strands.
Some of the bottom branches seemed a bit long fo N scale and they were nipped off with a pair of side cutters. The only thing about the Modge Podge is it leaves a satin finish which is a little over the top, but I'll live with it. Maybe a spray with a Matt finisher once such activities will no longer reduce me to a coughing wreck.
…and added into the wood on the hillside.
There…feeling better already
;-)
