OO gauge layout - 1930's LMS based in North West England
I'm absolutely with Michael here. I'm an "out of the box" modeller although I am starting to consider weathering as an improvement.I really envy you guys capable of turning out such superb models apparently, with such ease……..
Whilst I'd quite like to have a go at kit building locos, I know my bankers couldn't stand the cost of all the rejects.

Excellent stuff Ian - keep them coming - for me, it's more fun watching than it would be "doing". :thumbs

I really need to get back to working on the layout and get it running again. I spend too much time at the workbench!!

2 more BSL coaches added to the fleet. A 60ft corridor composite and a 57ft brake third. Now building a 50ft kitchen car from Comet to complete this set up.

looking very much like a 3A off a Jubilee with a short firebox. Possibly a K's kit but not sure. It maybe off a Black 5 but it lines up nicely with the drawing i have of a Jubileee. However, its all i had along with cab sides from a JE etch. So using a Jamieson 5XP kit as a template, i scratchbuilt a footplate and cab roof from sheet brass. For the chassis i purchased a cheep DCC ready Hornby rebuilt royal scot. Progress so far;

The other project is bedding in my scalescenes terraced houses with slaters plasticard facing and the scalescenes lock keepers cottage as the Station masters house. I am currently making the garden walls, and will then plant the veg patch and turf it in due course. Mrs Station Master is a keen gardener and wanted an ornamental pond!!

Also, excellent garden walls - I noticed earlier you said you were busy "making the garden walls" - they've turned out very well indeed. How did you do them ? Plasticard, Das clay or some other medium - or did you just buy them ready made ?

Yes I forgot to mention the walls. Come on Ian, tell us the secret.That's a great pond Ian - I could just imagine sitting in my deckchair watching the fish glide around it.
