Off at a tangent once more.

Well,

Tomorrow in the shed. My sand coloured spray paint has arrived as well. Paul has offered to give me a lesson in airbrushing when we get up to Dundee on Sunday .

I'll do the base colour on the sleepers to give the top coat something to stick to then take a lesson from Leonardo.

A little dust net to one of the abutments needs done as well. I'll need to do a little trawling to see the best colour for the bridges but I'm thinking a muted green or blue followed by some weathering / rusting.

I'll possibly follow up with a photo or two.

For a good looking 'industrial green' , try Humbrol RC410 (acrylic). It is quite similar to what I have used on this turntable and water tower.

Where did that spring from ? I take it that is jacks corner ? You don't honestly expect me to achieve that.

I'll take note of the colour reference. What a great use of colour though. You must have good peepers to see ( and create ) the variations that are there. Spot on.

Yes Toto, that's on Jacks Corner. Just give your bridges a few light coats then use your weathering powders for the rust effects. Anyone can do it. Just remember when using weathering powders, if you are not happy with the result, wash them off and start again. Perhaps not 'wash' them off, as I recall they are laser cut wood models. Perhaps wipe them down with a damp clothe.
