Off at a tangent once more.
Hi,Back home from Inverness. Not a good drive with all the road works that are going on. It's set to get worse as well as the dialling of the A9 gets underway. 4 and a half hours to get home.
Anyway. Home now. Going to have something to eat and then maybe hit the shed. Try and get a few tasks done. Kick of with my painting of the baseboard. Get that out the way and the paint will dry for tomorrow.
I'll try and remember to look out the Class 17 paperwork for Keith M when I'm in there. I received some plywood laser kits through the week as well so if I'm posting up some pictures later tonight, I'll include them.
Meanwhile ……….. Food.
Cheers for now.

Apologies but I ain't going through that again tonight.
Ron, I went with brown emulsion in the end but only on the actual plywood. The track will be airbrushed with some proper humbrol colours as I progress. The plywood could have been any dark colour as it is just a base coat. I'll post up the pictures again tomorrow.
I also finished taking out the previous wiring including the main BUS cabling that I had previously soldered onto. I replaced with a new length of BUS cabling and soldered all the track feeders up. Tomorrow will be fitting my switch 8 when I pick it up from the post office and fitting, wiring and connecting up the Cobalts.
I also want to finally get these bridge abutments finished which will free me up to get the first phase of the Metcalfe brick card done to the abutments and low level walling.
Keith M.
I've photographed the class 17 paperwork and will post up tomorrow. I will also photocopy it and send you on a better copy if you PM me your details.
Some reasonable progress made for a Friday night. I wanted the initial paint out of the way which is done but I still have the actual track element to go. That will be this weekend as well.
Looking good.

No, the aftermath is still there but I will get round to it. There is a bit more mess to be made this weekend yet. I may hit the shed again tonight. I was in earlier today for a couple of hours. Some photos to come later. I'm thinking of the Cobalts later tonight. I build a wee box to house the switch 8. I also sorted out the bridge abutment earlier today. I think it's a better fit now.

didn't bother with the shed again today. my sister and law visited so catching up with her and to be honest lost the go a bit. ( something that will not be a problem going into tomorrow, just feeling a bit flat )
So I suppose now is a good time to catch up with last nights screwed up post.
First of all …… Keith M. a dodgy copy of the class 17 paperwork that I promised. Again, a decent photocopied version will be in the post early next week.
last one
I hope its readable for the time being until the photocopy lands.:thumbs
next up yesterdays progress as previously aided by Gary :cheers
and another
that was the surrounding trackbed painted with a not so convincing brown paint.
next,
The new track feeds awaiting connection,
job done,
and on to today, the single lane bridge abutment was sorted out.
much neater and it now has a better fit.
The other compartment which will house the switch 8 well out of harms way.
and again.
then there is some of the shinnies that I had acquired over the last week.
The low relief pub.
The half relief corner shop
low relief cinema
and a view of some of the bits
Then there are cobble roads and pavements
and some acrylics,
and even some brushes …… they were going cheap,
and that concludes the lesson.
tomorrow should be Cobalts. The problem is that the cobalts are too deep for the depth of the baseboards keeping it in mind that it was originally destined for wire in tube. So my intention is to add timber framing to the existing to deepen it and also add a protective board to the underside to box in all the vunerable stuff.
again the bottom plate was not originally going to happen but ass I constantly have to lay the layout on top of other supports in order to bring it to a working height, protection to the underside wiring etc is wise I think.
cheers for now

I think today's first role will be installing the other abutments for the double bridge. I have decided that it will be going back in. I had been thinking of taking it out as it may be over kill on a layout of this size but I'm sticking with plan A . After all it is named Highbridge.
A couple of hours should see that done and then I'll look at the Cobalts. I had swithered about the order that I should be doing this in as next, I'm back to the painting of the track and eventually, the installation of the brick wall sections.
It makes sense to get the paint out the way prior to gluing the brick paper / card in place but I think the Cobalts need to go in before the painting of the track as I need to get these tested in case anything needs tweaked. I sort of stalled a bit yesterday on this front as I couldn't make up my mind. ( my head was in a bad place yesterday ). However, it's time to push on.
As I said, I'll be on the abutments first thing this morning so if there are any opinions with regards to the order of the rest, by all means chip in. I think I have it right.
