Off at a tangent once more.

Hattons came back to me advising of the following,

Bachmann 36 - 558 A 6 pin 2 function at £15.26.

That'll be the one then

Well,

I'm sitting at home at the moment waiting to find out where I'm going. It's all a bit of a mystery at the moment.:mutley

So while I wait, I may get a little time to spend on my magnet testing. I need to get this going and out the way as I've ground to a halt from what was a flying start.

Sort the magnets out then I can get back on with the rest. The wiring will be the next part. It's about three quarters done as far as track feeds and the like go with only the three main sidings left to do. Of course I can't do that until the track is down which needs the magnets in place however they are going to end up.

It would be great to get it done and test the track out with both the 08's and 03's to see if stay alive is going to be required on any of them. I will also need to fit my Kadee's to the loco's and test against the gauge.  Just in case another variant of the Kadee is required.

Has anyone fitted out their shunters with Kadee's yet. Both my models are Bachmanns. It would be good to know what coupling was used. I currently have number 18's.
I think I'll get onto that today …… Easy job to get started on. Any feedback on the Kadee no for these loco's would be handy. In fact, my crappy memory tells me I should be looking at my posts as I think a " Kadee coupling guide " may have been posted already. I'm off to have a swatch.

Cheers for now

Morning,

My 8 pin decoders arrived this morning from Hattons:mrgreen:

I was going to wait until the little people arrived and do it all in one visit but I'm keen to just get the decoders done.:hmm

Might just do a couple.

Went ahead and done some decoder fitting. Two x 2 car DMU's and one x 3 car DMU.

You need to watch when you do these as there is one tiny screw under one of the bogies that you must get out. It's easy enough but to me, the instructions are not too accurate.

Anyway job done. I have 3 left and I am awaiting delivery of another 3 car DMU. May still come today yet if not …….. Tomorrow.

After that is done, I need to order more decoders. 2 x 8 pin and 2 x 6 pin for two further two car sets ( DMU's ). I also need 2 x 8 pin for my two class 14 Teddy Bears and 3 x 8 pin for some class 03 shunters.

I can't have many to go after that I don't think. I'll need to double check my steamies. There may be some of them that still need chipped.

Looks like I am off to Inverness tomorrow so that will be me until the weekend. SWMBO wants to visit freinds at our old caravan park on Saturday or Sunday so I better tow the line

Cheers for now.

Blimey, it gets expensive with all those decoders!
Sorry about the enforced accompaniment unless there are any model shops in Inverness to escape to! :)

Hi Ted,

I've nearly chipped everything now. Not many left. I'll come across a couple of stragglers maybe but the expensive part is more or less over.

I hope there is not model shops in Inverness. I need to give my wallet a break.:mutley Warley is on the horizon and I'll need some loco vouchers for that.

Cheers

Brown sauce watered down a bit wiv vinegar to make it nice and runny as they squirt it over your fish supper … Lovely.  :thumbs

OK fish supper…= 2 pieces of fish and chips  as opposed to a single fish…..If you want a single piece of fish with chips, ask for a child's fish and chips….don't ask for a single fish and chips cos the Wee Scots lassie behind the counter will look at you like your talking a foreign language.  :mutley

Now this might only be a rumour, but………………

any chips left over, are served cold the next day,

served up as………… Scottish Salad!

P.S. the worst thing to do to chips,
is put vinegar on them, yuk.
The only thing for chips is a bit of salt,
maybe with a bit tomato sauce on the side!

No rumour …….. It's all true:mutley mmmmmmm yesterday's chips, ye canny whack them.:mutley

I've just got back in from Inverness as I type.twenty to one I left at and that's me just getting in at about five minutes past five. Murder.

I stayed at the Companies flat that they have up in Inverness. ……… No WIFI. …… I ain't having that so I've requested a hotel for next week. I've not had security clearance to get onto the clients IT system even though I have just finished on another job for them after working for them for about two and a half years. About 6 weeks of a break and I've been kicked off their system. Completely cut off for the last couple of days. Getting withdrawals.:mutley

Anyway, back to find my other 3 car DMU has been delivered as well as another " auto switch". I could not find the one that I had delivered a couple of weeks ago. ……… Put it somewhere safe ……… Too safe.

Cheers for now, I'm off for a tour of what's been happening with the natives.

Looks like its magnet time later today. I got some more Kadee 18's and 19's which arrived today.

It's SWMBO's birthday so there's a few things I need to do first so it will be a later start but I'm hoping to be started mid to late afternoon.

Let you know how I get on but ideally I'd like to have the magnet issue out the way this weekend.

Cheers for now.
