Great shot. I've seen the train shed in the highland vet.

He lives just across the street from us, but I've never actually watched any of it……

Very nice too. I still can't get over how you've blended that back scene in.

Cheers Pete.

Brilliant shots (and models) as ever Richard - always a high point whenever you post something.

I do have a population that show from time to time, with wire attachments to hold in place and remove as needed but most of my memories of wandering round the yard are of being alone or maybe one or two staff about, but they tended to retreat to one of the various huts and sheds that the place had.

20250513_000327.jpg 20250513_000241.jpg Very little done recently but managed to get LNWR and CR vans from Rapido's welcome foray in to pre group stock in to layout shape.

IMG_2044.JPG No modelling done this year I'm afraid - life elsewhere has been taking up most of my time and I've lost any enthusiasm for photography, mainly because I've nothing new to show, along with which I made a personal New Year resolution to try and stop building  and concentrate on the layout, which has worked in so much as I have operated/played with it a good deal more but the myriad underway projects  that I intended to finish have hit a mental block which I must dismantle. Anyway, here are a couple of shots from a year or two back - been sorting and gathering my shambolic image storage systems a bit - which I don't think I have posted here before… one a Clan Goods on the Thurso turntable and the other a CR 4-4-0 drifting through Helmsdale on some important business.

Ben

Always been a fan of the Far North Line - the quality and the atmosphere.

I totally understand the fun of operating rather than building or making things.  At Yarslow, I have boosted my "mojo" by running through the timetable - shunting the branch freight or watching the express passenger trains run through,  sorting out the parcels traffic at Trinity Square or simply setting up departures with engines from the shed.

I hope you find the time to get back to the layout soon and work your way through the projects on the go.

I Know what you mean Richard, I've done nothing to my TT120 shunting plank since April when I had to stop to do some decorating.

I'd started the TT120 layout as progress on my N gauge layout had stalled and I thought a change of scale might stimulate some interest, but the delay in Hornby locos and rolling stock, has dampened my enthusiasm.

Just about to start some more decorating now as well :mutley

Every time I see your photo's I'm amazed at how well you've blended the back scene in, not to mention the stock Thanks for posting them.

Cheers Pete.

That Clan Goods is a tight fit on the turntable Richard ……………..:05eek_2:

Thing interfering with modelling and mojos seems to be catching - you're not the first on here to have stalled this year and I'm sure you won't be the last.  Hopefully next 'season' will bring further developments.

In passing - have we seen your layout in its entirety  - I don't remember ever seeing where you can play…….?

It's tiny  -  just under 12' x 10' in a sloped ceiling attic room - and I have posted some cruel airplane shots before - on Rmweb I think, but I'll dig them out from the uncharted morass of my photo files when I get a mo.

I hope you get some 'mo' soon. I look forward to see some shots of your amazing layout.

Deleted it a couple of years ago - the loss of images from their crash was irrepairable for me as I hadn't saved many of them  and I really don't like the way the forum has gone with Warners, along with the fact that I've more or less run out of anything new to say or show about the layout - it has reached a stage where it is more or less at a level where little more needs to be done to it, although I might do some more tracklaying when the Peco curved Bullhead points emerge but that will have scant visual difference as it is the throat of Thurso where they are concentrated and are mostly out of usual sight. My collection of layout pics is stored in various files  in no particular order although for the last sux years I have been doing an annual file  but it still involves me scouring through a dozen or more  to track anything down, and that is just the current layout….
