Thanks for the positive comments.

Hi Andy.  Such luxury, if I get around to buildings on my planks/modules there will only be space for low relief accommodation. But I can stretch to a Southern Precast Concrete hut.   Best wishes Kevin

Top cornice completed and roof base card marked out and cut out, held together by masking tape so that I can mark where the chimney stacks are to go, then make them, then flatten it back out for tiling/slating.

The small barn has had a cart shed and brick lean too added.

The Harbour Office just needs Guttering, flashing and flaunching, oh and a sign.

Hi Andy. Your work never ceases to amaze me, as such I would like some advice. If you can,  My job is more of a bodge, isn’t it always, l have some of that “ red plastic brick sheet “ which I need to carve up to make brick pillars, the type that support a station platform. Do I try to make bricks on four sides or would two sheets back to back work?Best wishes Kevin

Depending on how thick you pillars need to be, I would probably use some thin square stripwood (fireworks rocket sticks) for the structural part and then clad these with your brick sheet.

Hi Andy.  Thank you. I haven’t progressed to timber yet, but I am willing to have a go when I can find a supplier.Meanwhile for my current project/ practice model I am going with Wills brick sheet and styrene. I watched an interesting YouTube video this morning by a Modeller from Sweden, but for now I will see how l get on.
Best wishes Kevin

PS or I could wait until November and go out to pick up sticks.

Although I haven't posted for a while, progress is being made.

A couple of small buildings built over Xmas.

A pig sty and my take on the small signal box at Grossmont that I will be using platform mounted.

I need to take some pictures of the station buildings and the row of buildings running up hill that I have also been working on, but for now see below.

Hi Andy.       Excellent, I wasn’t certain, until I read the details, the use of the Pig sty, I thought that it was to go at the back of a pub? I am right off Modelling now until I am fully recovered after 2 months in Kings College Hospital.I can just sit back and admire the work of members on the forum, especially yours so keep it up.
Best wishes Kevin

Hope you are feeling better Kevin.

Any how, here are a few buildings that are making up a corner section.

First the corner board with the station buildings place roughly in position, the actual board goes where the blue airbrush holder is in the background, this signal box above will go the other side of the station masters house.
Canopies still to be made.

And the row of buildings will go up the side where the backscene (only rough at this point) goes up hill on the left.

And one of the other corner in progress

Backscene needs the details building up on top of the basic outlines of colour.

Once these two corners are done, I can start working inwards as they are the farthest to reach, although they will still be removable sections.

Hi Andy.    Thank you again. The furthest I got in the building line was a part built kit of a p-way hut, a scratch built lamp mans hut, and a staff halt platform. That is me all over, start a job and never finish it, but I now have an excuse?? Best wishes Kevin

Due to a catastrophic roof failure with what was supposedly a quality erected shed the Deene railway mark 1 is no more, the shed has gone to the recycling centre (tip). And two plastic 8 x 8 sheds will replace the original 16 x 8 wooden shed.

This does restrict mark 2, but no maintenance waterproof buildings win.

So 8 x 8 ideas now required.

I managed to save all the scratchbuilt buildings and 99% of the original L girder timbers, so that helps with the future build.

Got to be positive, so a new beginning.

Oh Andy, what a catastrophe, but I'm relieved that your magnificent buildings are safe. You have my sincere best wishes for your phoenix layout rising magnificently, fortunately from metaphoric ashes.

Keep up that positivity and let us know how you see the new railway occupying the smaller space.

Very best,

Bill

Likewise, relieved that your beautiful buildings survived, but such a shame that they needed rescuing in the first place.
You are right, a chance for a new beginning.  I assume you will be sticking with OO gauge?  I look forward to seeing your planning ideas.

Michael

ps  Thanks for identifying the threaded inserts over on my thread - spot on!

Hi

I'm back after a long break and a move to Norfolk.

Have got a new 16 x 8 shed similar to the old one, so I am starting again.

Will probably start a new thread shortly.

Cheers
