Now I will try to catch up on the thread.
Yes it is a FW190, I pick a few kits up from Charity shops cheaply, also Lidl's and Aldi have some in on offer occaisionally, just keeps the old brain going.
The viaduct was going to go over the door but I decided against a lift out or lift up as too much trouble, and a duck under is a definite no no.
I had thought that the viaduct could become a small diorama for photographs.
I have found the same as Sol, that hand built turnouts turn out far cheaper than peco and others, but the real advantage is that you can build them to fit your layout rather than built the layout with fixed geometry.
Sprayed all the track that's down so far with grey primer last night, so next step is to start painting the sleepers and rails, then must get some more track on order.

Progress on the layout yesterday was mixing up a pot full of sleeper / rail brown and sploshing it over the primered track, next job is to mix up a rusty rail colour for the rails and chairs/baseplates

Hopefully I can start on some scenics soon, ideally need to get the track up the back ramp first, the main terminus can wait though as its basically self contained on the upper board.

…tend to be a bit viscious and brake the soldier on the blades.
Hope the soldier is feeling better now, which begs me to ask, what was the soldier doing on the blades…?
Cheers, Gary.

Have sloshed on first coat of my sleeper brown mix.
Saturday I started on my small harbour, Sunday was shopping and then crap weather all day so nothing else done, got to pick the bike up from its MOT later so probably wont get anything done today either.
Made from Card, with my own stone texture sheet, the wooden supports are rocket sticks that I collected from the neighbourhood last bonfire night, painted with my sleeper mix.
Pictures of the rear showing construction method, the whole thing is removable allowing me to work on it on my bench.
Next step for this is to add a tide line, weeds & weathering then start building up the layers of PVA, but first I need to build a boat, any one know of any plans for a 4mm trawler of small vessel?

And the rocket sticks are the ones that fell on my head while out walking the dogs on bonfire night and the week before and after, and at New Year

Got some grey card and cut out a load of shapes.
Cut some holes in some of them and cut out some smaller ones, then started gluing them togther
And this is as far as I have got at the moment
Its based on a Clyde Puffer as at 66' long its a nice compact 27cm in 4mm scale, its not going to be an exact model, just a representation.

Got the decking glued on yesterday and drilled the hole for test fitting the mast and started on the engine/wheelhouse.
I am off on holiday for 6 nights tomorrow so no more updates until I am back, will try to check in using my phone if I get a reasonable signal.
