Love the atmosphere of that corner, and the crossing gates look good in situ too...

Just a quick post to say that the house move idea has been scrapped so work can now recommence on the railway :-)

Just had another look at that signal box and crossing photo. It really is very good. Do you plan on having the other crossing gate on the edge of the board?

I plan on the road carrying on down a hill with the other gate opposite to a village/town in the loop the track creates there with the land rising again towards the rear, it takes time with open baseboards to build up the landscape but its far more realistic than flat earth baseboards.

Hi Andy.  Have you ever considered motorised “ lorries or buses “ with a wire in the roadbed? Or is that a bridge too far?    Best wishes. Kevin

Hi Andy.  Thank you. Since I retired I have “no structure” to my life, it is only if/ when I have an appointment or go to a model railway exhibition that I have some aim in life. I do miss those 0500 duties, get to work early, get home for dinner and work on the “ model Railway “.  Best wishes. Kevin

Well after a bout of pneumonia the tablets are starting to do there job and I have started modelling again.

A few work in progress pictures follow

A small lineside hut.

A cottage of some sorts, still needs lean too adding and gutters etc

Door latch made from thin wire, thumb press part is the wire flattened with a hammer, this is installed in the outhouse that I am constructing based on Chris Piltons, cottage modelling for Pendon book.

And finally, I have started on my version of the cottages from the plans in the J Ahern book, front elevation marked out and windows and doors cut out.

Glad you're feeling better Andy  :thumbs

The picture of your fingers holding the hut has reminded me why I've moved to O-16.5  :mutley

Hi Andy

Glad you are recovering from the pneumonia - I know how tough that is.  Lovely little models there - like a good artist you have a definite style! Looking forward to seeing the developments.

Some more progress has been made, I didn't get as much time as I thought over Xmas as swmbo had other plans for shopping.

Folded into a box, rear walls installed, ceilings/roof cards added, now working on the chimney stacks and eyebrow dormer then I can get onto the tiling of the roof.

I didn't go with the Bay Window as I plan on adding porches to the front doors instead.

The 30mm cellar area is for handling the building and planting it on the layout as my boards are open L-Girder construction.

Hi Andy. I cannot see anything wrong with that, just watch that you don’t fall off the roof. One cause for concern is that buildings may fade next to the window ?    Happy New Year.  Kevin

The layout room has roller blinds at all the windows to keep the sun out.

Been up on the small  roof and tiling has commenced…
