I decided to paint the handrails yellow after seeing a pic of a 37 on the turntable at st blazey depot. The rails were painted yellow orche then brushed over with yellow to give a worn look. Modern image for brian…
And one for the kettle fans….
Lizzy actualy runs but needs a lot of tlc and the front needs straightening out as it's been stored someware warm!! The coaches were quite badly bent and were the short triang ones. After unsucessfully trying to straighten them out I think they will be lengthened and rebuilt as electrification coaches complete with flat roofs. ;-)

Here are some pics of the tender Dave. I think it is the correct livery seeing as your 'Liz' doesn't have the red lining
The coupling will need changing and the body is loose, but all the bits are there.
Pm me your address if you want it

On with the garden layout. Picking up from last time the turntable has been modified for it's eventual motorisation. I have taken some 4mm brass rod and threaded the end. This has now been glued in place ready for instalation on the layout.
To motorise the table I will be using a 24v motor and drive mech from an old CCTV camera. I have tested the turntable and mech using a 5v supply and have to say it looks great with a big class 40 on! I need to make some brackets for the mech to mount under the baseboard but once done I will post a video clip. Work on the OHLE is progressing slowly. You will remember I was having some problems fitting the brass arms to the copper gantries well tieing them together with wire then coating with superglue seams to have done the trick. One big challenge is two gantries need two sets of arms fitted as there will eventualy be two sets of wires where the lengths overlap.
Inside I have installed another section of wire on the station approch.
Must finish off those houses and flats though!  ;-)

In the mean time I need to start cleaning up the inside of the garage as I have stuff all over the place. Once sorted I can carry on finishing off the job of boarding out the roof space above the 'railway room'. Long term plan is to move my music studio into the roof space freeing up the small box room. Only downside will be finding a new home for potters lane as it currently sits up one corner of the room. So much for doing some modeling this weekend! ;-)
