If a train is at the beginning of the layout, wherever that is :hmm, how long from there will it take to do a full cycle of the whole layout, :thumbs

Off the top of my head I think I timed it at just over two and a half mins. Well I also worked out that the scale track mileage was 4.7 miles!!

Still no ideas on the warehouse heres a clue…….

Well if they try and escape first they have to get over that fence that I finished off last night with three rows of barbed wire then down the large drop to the railway that is electrified at 25kv. I supose that I could connect the fence to the OHLE !

As it was the last day of my suposed modeling hoilday I thought I had better do somthing more constructive than finish painting the decking/fence. So spured on by a couple of pics from Chris T I made a start on Byerley Parkway station…….

The station has been built with a removerable roof section to allow for track cleaning, etc. The use of the hornby platforms has ment that I have had to compromise on the width of the platform buildings although from a normal viewing distance the overall proportions of the station look about right. For the platform buildings Im hopeing to design them on the PC then once printed I will laminate the sheets before gluing in place. The overall roof as far as I can make out has ridges along the front so I will proberly cover the wooden frame with embossed plasticard sheet. The roof section is slightly recessed and I have thought of using it to mount the controlers in for the garden section!

Started adding the cladding to the wooden frame. Was making good progress untill I ran out of plasticard strips!

Thought it would be an idea to copy and past this pic (thanks Chris T)to make comparing the real and model easer. I think I have the proportions of the building about right.

This morning I have a great sense of achivement as by using a scanner, a door and window frame from a triang station, a bit of photo software, a printer and a laminator I have managed to produce the platform buildings for parkway station………
