Hi John, actually I used my Canon D6 which is a bit of a lump but it fitted on the mountain, I use my G12 for tight shots BTW the telegraph poles are ratio.

I have had the 43xx kit on the rolling road and running but it needs new crank pins and connector rods so in the meantime I'm getting on with some parts that are not finished.

Ultrascale tell me that the delivery date for crankpins is 4 to 5 weeks which I think is crazy, does anyone know of a substitute?

I bet that was "fun" painting the background black without getting it over the brass work !

Lots of fun Ron  The good thing is that if a slip is made it's easy enough to scrape the paint off the pipes etc.

A lovely job Phil, but please tell me you had decals for the gauge dials, otherwise, I may as well give up now!

Loving your work,

Thanks Bill.

The gauges pictures were taken from Google images, and cropped in Photoshop, then printed out to 2.4mm, 2mm and 1.5mm.

Phew, thanks Phil, I can both rest easy and add that little nugget to the data base, as I'll definitely be using that one, particularly for several open cab locos.

I hope your crankpins appear in good time.

Thank you so much for posting that sequence of photographs Phil it was both illuminating and inspiring……….a bit like the magician explaining how he cuts the lady in half:lol:

The end result certainly made all the initial stages well worth while

Kind Regards

It's fun to do John and very rewarding when it works, not difficult to do once you know what's what, an artistic eye does help, I learned by trial and error with my day job, but if I can help in any way, if you ever have a bash at this, then that's not a problem.

Here's progress on the kit so far, I have just noticed that there are handrail knobs and a buffer spring missing for the tender.
