For me Phil, the black and white ones are fantastic - everything was black and white in the steam era - although thinking about it, not much was white !!

Love the first one from behind the van with the loose sheep and the ladies chatting at the phone box.  Superb detail in there and so very authentic looking.

Did you do the weathering on the loco and rolling stock ?

Yes, I agree that these photos are spectacular!
I really love the details you put in your layout. How big is it? I could probably go back and find out for myself but don’t feel like searching 100 pages of forum…!

Thanks Peter,

I did all the weathering on the locos etc and yes, B&W was what we initially grew up with :)

Thanks Darius,

The layout is 28 feet by 10 feet.

I forbid you to disable Pen-y-Bryn Phil - it would be yet another masterpiece lost for the nation, nay, lost for the world !!!

The coalmine is exquisite (if one can describe a coalmine as such) and is what drew me to your layout initially.  It would be the Devil's own job to package and ship it so, if it did go to a new home, it would probqably be "cash on collection only".  French customs would have a field day - 'Package contents - Coal Mine' ………………………:untitled:

The problem with track that is 30 + years old, copper clad and soldered rail can deteriorate!
