Six months without use is a little different than about eight years 😀 I wrapped a cloth around my finger added some IPA and rubbed it on a rail, it picked up black residue.

The problem with using a rubber is, it’s difficult to clean all the track without one’s hand knocking over scenery.

Interesting Matt.

Is your track N/S or steel ?  I once tried with graphite but had little success.  Maybe I either used too much or not enough.  I remember being somewhat disappointed because I'd read great things about it and it didn't come cheap !!  Bear in mind half of me is Yorkshire and the other half is Scottish so anything over 10p is a total rip-off !!!   :05eek_2:

It's  N S Peter, and I'm  still on that first block years later !  It's  high in graphite content..so low in chalk ?  I don't go mad, just gentle pressure and run it probably twice ? Round on each track ? For me it seams to work ! Before I started using it I had to constantly  clean the track, now that only happens occasionally and I think it's more to remove crud deposited by wheels than anything else.

Wasnie me, a big boy did it and ran away

Here's a few B&W pics, the last two were taken before the much better Modelu figures were added.

Great photos Phil - especially the black and white ones.  The wagons under the coal chutes is fabulous but I also love that one showing the back yards with the tin bath.

Keep digging them up please !

Lovely Phil

The backscenes really add to the scene, framing the highly detailed cameo.  I am so jealous that Yarslow is set in countryside flatter than a billiard table and hence, there is no background!!

Amazing, I prefer the colour pics but the black and white remind me of my old box brownie, although mine did not come out so clear.

Thanks all for the kind words, the B&W ones were of course taken with a Box Brownie and they luckily "came out"  :mutley

That's great Phil - your son is obviously a keyboard warrior.

Clever stuff indeed although at the rate he's slipping, that Prairie will soon need new tyres.
