Thanks Pete, the new figures make a big difference, also, I'm adding to these cameos with extra trees, bushes etc.

Hi Phil.   That reminds, of a trip to Wales , Mid Wales line,  just like a lot of railway fans I was taking photos and probably hanging too far out of the window , but it wasn’t till I got the film developed that I realised why the guard arranged for me to ride up front with the driver . The Guard had a look of terror. Best wishes Kevin

A few years ago at a vintage car show in Cardiff I saw a Standard 10 (10 HP) I remember going on holidays every year to a caravan in Porthcawl, about 36 miles, we used to stop on the way by the side of the road, get the meths burner out and make tea to break up that long journey!
We used to do exactly that from London to Brighton. Stop on the verge, brew up, game of cricket and on our way. Well 50 miles in those days always seemed further because of the cars and the roads. We were doing that trip one day in our old Jowett with it's flat (in every sense of the word) 2 cylinder engine when it (the engine) disintegrated, leaving bits in the road behind us. We might not have made Brighton, but the trip home on the end of a tatty bit of rope behind a removal van livened things up.

Cheers Pete.

Hi Phil.  Again here I am looking for ways in which to put some life into the bare background and everything else about it. This lockdown, and with me being banned from leaving my borough, even if I could walk that far, I have no inspiration, no way of visiting any model Railway shops, which means Post and packaging as an extra cost.In the recent days I have had to order online stuff to get my project moving forward, with ballast, and a background scene . But, now I have to look for that illusive ingredient , any worthwhile suggestions would be appreciated.   Best wishes Kevin

I wondered where you'd got to Phil then realised the "Glorious 12th"  is rapidly approaching so the plus fours will be brought out of storage and their Purdeys will be en route to you to be "prettied up" ready for the new grouse season having missed out last year….
Great photos - as expected.  Heaps of "mood" in the b&w shot.  :thumbs

Here's an idea, the bottom of the pictures has the baseboard edge, to disguise this I used Photoshop, this first picture shows this on the far right, but it could also be water? So, what if a canal was added, easy to do with just a 3" addition.

Here's a direct on of the scene.

And here's a Photoshopped canal added just to see if it works, I think it adds distance.
