Thanks John, nothing special about my face painting, just a weak wash of black to get into the crevices and maybe a surface touch with a tissue to clean off the highlights.

Yes, lamps are needed to add realism…….when I get around to it

Have I missed the bit where you told us how you did those scrap cars?

Cheers Pete.

Peter sure is studying it - very, very closely !  You've set a very high bar Phil but I'm on your tail … :mutley  :mutley :mutley

I'm also studying the scrap cars which are also stunning.  How did you do the open bonnets and doors Phil.  I think you'd said when you posted originally but I can't remember.  The Morris 8 and Austin Somerset must have been particularly difficult……

I'm sure I posted a step by step on how to do the cars, but basically, a jewellers saw was used with a very fine blade to cut out the doors, bonnets, boot and wings, not the easiest to do because of sawing position and great care has to be taken as the saw blades can snap easily.

That is one fantastic scene. There is so much detail there which has been well painted and weathered!

Yes you did Phil but we tend to be a lazy lot !

I knew you'd used your work skills on the previous cars but that Austin bonnet caught my eye as probably being extremely difficult to do - it's cut in a very awkward place to access ………

It's a good thing that the chassis could be removed as sawing restrictions can make the air blue

Another bunch ready for paint.

So, the cameo areas are up for a make-over also.

I'm second from the right… "hmmm, to work or not to work."

I'm looking forward to seeing them painted.

All painted Peter, and three planted on a cameo which has been re-worked on, just a few more details to add :)

Dai, Ron and Mr. Jenkins putting the world to rights.

This cameo has had a make-over with new figures, also mods to the car, ie. open sun roof and door, door window half open and a starting handle, more foliage, bike and no parking sign.

Simply astounding what you can do with that saw. Those figures look the part now you've painted them too.

Cheers Pete.

Wow Phil - that's absolutely brilliant.

How did you do the car door ?  Not just having it open - I assume that's the same as you did to the scrap cars - it's more the thickness and realistic looking lock-face detail that is particularly amazing.
