Thanks John, that's interesting, thinking about it, I could leave the colliery, which looks good I think, and add your ideas, the problem I have unlike you guys who know quite a lot about railway correctness is actually getting a "correct" track plan together, it needs some research, also the new track could still match mine as it's SMP.

An Historical Survey of Great Western Engine Sheds 1947
By E. Lyons.       Published by. Oxford Publishing Co

Covers just about ( if not all) every GWR shed……lots of great photos, track plans for most and lists allocation for each shed by loco#

Even if you dont go down the shed route it is still a great resource for all things Western.

You may still have time to put it on your Xmas list!

Cheers

John

Thanks John, I have Great Western Branch Line Termini, also this looks good :-  https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/an-Historical-Survey-of-Great-Western-Engine-Sheds-1947-by-Lyons-Pub-Oxford-1972/1407769401?iid=113991517496
The other problem is, the track running through the colliery at the moment, runs to the main line just past the engine sheds, this needs to be moved a lot higher as I was hoping for a lot more space for buildings down at that area.

PS. Your suggested book and the one in the link has been bought :)

Hi Phil,

Have a look at Brymbo near Wrexham. Coal mines, limestone/lime pits, steel works, (iron ore in steel out, slag heaps), multilevel tracks, halts, GWR and LMS. It was on my wish list until downsizing.

Absolutely!  I've ticked others off for passing off real life for a model!  I mean, did you not expect us to spot an old photo of real trains dressed  up as a model?   Hahahha  What do you take me for?!
