As a GWR hater and no lover of OO you would think I'd skip this one, but this is proof that good modelmaking is a common currency.  I would have said if pressed that this was EM for sure, so beautifully consistent are the standards of work across the board. Some of the best trees and foliage I've seen and superbly realistic trackwork. I have no idea if any of it is RTR, kit or scratch (except for the buildings, obviously), but neither do I care…THAT'S how much I like this layout.

Cheers,
Martin

Ooh, but that must have made you smile as well though Phil and very well done, as Pen Y Bryn is truly outstanding and so photogenic.

The bride is in the UK at present, so has been asked very nicely to pick up a copy of Model Rail for me to enjoy next week.

Looking forward to it.

Best,

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Absolutely wonderful Phil.  And a super teaser of a photo in model rail advertising a full article in the new year…. well deserved. It is great to see you the layout is still developing.

Thanks again, I've just picked up a copy and as Michael mentioned, there's a double page teaser, the article itself will be out in the New Year.

My latest project, converting an Oxford model "Ford Popular 103E" into a scrapped car, the picture below shows the original bought car and the finished one.

I have step by step pictures if anyone is interested  :)

I think I should like to see those progress pics.

How hard was it to get the door open?

Might be worth starting a separate topic Phil, so that it's easier to find for future reference.

Ok, I'll start it here Ed and you can move it to  relevant section if you want to.

I can't move it Phil, but the mods can.

Thought it might be better under the lineside section, otherwise someone looking for something similar may not find it within the 65 pages of Pen y Bryn.

Just a thought.

Sorry Ed, I meant to say the "Mods" could move it to what section they thought best  :)

Hi Phil, I can move it to lineside no problem but having a quick look the lineside header includes Cars and trucks but the three subsections arent an obvious place for your conversion.   Leave it with me
