And a special thanks to you Phil for the cheque which paid for a new set of tyres for the car, a new sofa for SWIMBO  and a new engine for me !

Here's a quick shot with the Station building plonked down on site…a tight fit…and I forgot to line up the pillars  :roll:Also, Allan Downes cracking signal box in the distance, yet to be positioned properly and weathered etc.

Looking good, Phil (well the signal box anyway  ;-))

What would really be of interest is how you coloured the station stone work and what colours you used then I could tell everyone that I invented it !

Really inspiring stuff mate.

Looking great. Is that some used loo roll on the tracks between the platforms?

I know it's an authentic detail of railways, but… ewwwwww! ;)

Mmmm!…you can't really see the signal box Allan, I made sure it was far enough away :mutley

Re the paintwork, I covered the stonework with a chocolate type colour, then added MODEL COLOR German Cam. Med.Brown/  Green Grey/   Fieldgrey WW11 and Humbrol 72, all matt of course, I might still give everything a dirty black/green/brown wash though as that's the colour in my area,  © © © © and Naa!…My invention!   © © © ©  :chicken

Thanks Ed.

Not to worry, Allans box will get good coverage when it's weathered and bedded in

There is a little matter of the track ballast being out of scale, this was done before I knew better about twenty six years ago, there's a lot of it and difficult to reach

There's three possibilities, leave as it is, (not really), dig it all up and re-lay finer ballast or add finer ballast to it which would fill in the areas between the big stuff?

Re the ballast, Phil.

Try a section first by 'blinding' it with a very fine dust powder, not N gauge ballast as I think it will be too heavy.

Anyway, just a thought and the ballast as it is looks just fine to me. Check out a close up of real track work and you'll see  just how heavy looking real ballast was/is.

Actually each stone would be around 6" in  diameter, I have some very fine stuff which should should fill in and balance things out a tad.

Been doing other stuff lately but here's a new picture of Pen y bryn Colliery.

I don't know if there's a way of making the attached picture bigger?

Click on what looks like a white exclamation mark in a red circle top right just under the exit cross, Phil, and you can expand the picture almost as large as you like.

Cheers mate, and welcome back.
