Phil. I was only aware that there were two books originally - vol 1 and vol 2 - then a third combining both. This is the one you want and is always available on Ebay etc secondhand. The book/s are really comprehensive and the plans absolutely spot on and very easy to work from - with accompanying photo's and original and modified track plans - even the names of some of the station staff from way back when !

Here's one way of adding creepers/ivy using Woodland Scenics Foliage and Turf.

Before.

PVA added.

Foliage teezed to shape and pressed on after PVA has got tacky.

Tendril lines added with PVA.

Loose particles added and pressed on.

Darker coloured particles added here and there.

More tendrills added with deluted (Thinner) PVA and Turf (On a piece of paper) blown on with a straw, also lightly over the whole area.

Finished.

Hi Phil

It might be worth sending a PM to Sol.

He's an NCE zealot.

To be honest Max, in the time I've had it, it's only run trains for probably less than an hour, all my time has been spent on modelling and building the brass Mogul!

Seems like the same old story Phil. Once a layout's built, it never gets played with. I even flog the transformer !

Mine's not even totally built, I can't seem to find the time to run anything, the thought  of cleaning the track is bad enough!
