been a long time between drinks
Have been involved on other layouts, etc plus timetables etc on mine
During one session. one of the crew took on the role of Dispatcher/ Train Controller using these two panels which requires one to turn around to work them

and he suggested that both panels be integrated into one to replace the one above these words.
Well this is it

Not only turnouts out on the mainline & storage but signals as well
We all know DCC only requires 2 wires but this panel has 88 of them !!!
So far, got half of the LEDS ( & there are plenty of them 13 bi-colour & 25 single colour beasts) wired, then to to do pushbuttons for signals & toggles for turnouts.
I think when this wired, it will take me a few days to replace the other two - may even have to cancel one of the 2 operate sessions I have a month.

As sharp and functional as ever Sol.
He’s still going to have to turn around to see what’s going on isn’t he?

The work we make for ourselves. I've ended up with two panels but can't make them into one.

Cheers Pete.

That would be a mistake Sol - DCC is just a simple 2 wire system ……..

A small extension is planned for storage - track extending from one side of the room, over the doorway with another liftup to Tiverton on the other main wall sitting about 12" above the trac ks behind the main station Tawnton.

The panel looks great Sol - can you build me one when you've a spare couple of minutes.  What size is it ?  I'm assuming the switch orientation matches the point settings or do you rely the yellow LEDs for route indication ?

How many levels do you have in there and is 12" the standard clearance between levels ?  Just wondering because I'm starting with my high level section and not really sure what minimum clearance to allow................

Peter, the toggles do indicate direction as do the LEDs
The Newton Abbot tracks on the LHS are approx 6 inches above to datum while the tracks under Charde in the middle are about 3 inches lower.

Your operating companions have been making "suggestions" again, haven't they!

Once I move my layout down to they new train room in Denmark there will be room for a similar expansion.

I shall watch yours with interest.

cheers

Thanks Sol.

Only 3 inches above and below datum - you're not expecting any derailments !!

You're moving your train room to Denmark Marty    I'm assuming this is still in or around Perth or are you actually coming to Europe ?

The Tiverton extension has been completed & we have had about 4 Op sessions on it - adds approx 32 feet extra running track

Looking very nice Sol.  You seem to have lots of storage space for stock - most of mine is now stored in boxes - Maxmill Mk2 is very much smaller than the Mk 1 version was .............!!

What are those sticky-up things - point motors ?
