This is the warehouse:

This is not the point of the thread however.
Boxes of apples were needed.

And here they are, on the goods shed off-loading platform, and some of them already on the barge.
The next shot shows the boxes of apples on their own:

And here is a lorry load, with a couple of boxes of larger fruit.
They were my first attempt at apples - not really convincing… possibly a repaint and they could be pumpkins?
Anyhow, the picture after this one shows construction.

It's self-explanatory really.
The previous 'large' fruit that is pictured on the lorry are yellow mustard seed. The young lady in the whole-food shop was really intrigued when I asked to see her range of seeds. When I explained what I needed them for, it turned out her husband was into war-gaming, and built his own dioramas, though in 1:32…
Small world, in more ways than one.
I digress.
Nothing more to add really - I painted everything on completion with Wilkinson's matt varnish, which waterproofs and doesn't seem to make colours run.
Other seeds are worth trying - cummin make convincing bananas…

All the best,
Shaun.

As you say, the "large" fruit on the lorry could be melons - but very big ones against the scale of the lorry !!! I'll have to have a look in our "seed" store - something like cabbage seeds might look OK - until they sprout ……………..
I'm impressed with the scene in general :cheers Is the narrow boat a Scalescenes kit ?

That's a great looking scene Shaun - lots of interest and some very good looking grass - as befits "apple country" …….:cheers

The grass Peter was applied with a home-made applicator, made from a flyswatter and tea strainer, both from the 99p shop…
Here's another shot of it:
