Hi Members, Now that Peco produce many of the well known model railway kit manufacturers products does anyone know what the state of play is with spare parts? For example I have (nearly) used up my stock of Ratio seat mouldings acquired many years ago from the Ratio stand at an exhibition, Parkside used to be very helpful with kit parts too. I am currently looking for a roof for a Ratio SR 'VanB'. Regards, Simon.

No idea what the state of play is with Ratio spares Simon but their points (Peco) were almost totally sold out in UK and thus far, availability still seems very tight.

My guess is they'll concentrate on complete kits initially and once that demand is satisfied, they'll start supplying spares but I think we're all in for some difficult times ahead.

I don't actually know where Ratio stuff is made - not Devon I'l bet !!!

Peco had something like a four-week shut-down during which time stocks of many items became exhausted at many retailers.  I too have no idea when specific items might become available again but plain track isn't too hard to find, points are getting through though not yet the full range (I had to go to Malta for a three-way point for example, or await production and supply reawakening) but the smaller brands such as Ratio may be a long way back in the queue.

The last I heard Peter Ratio had a factory on Marden Road in Buckfastleigh

Hi Simon,

Try emailing Peco (loooong wait) or make your own from styrene. I doubt they keep spare roofs in stock, it usually comes as part of a sprue of other components.

Hi Simon. This could be your lucky day. I am having to have a big clear out as I have to move home after 21 years and amongst the things that I found is a part built Ratio Bogie Brake Kit No 592. The instructions have been mislaid but the rest is almost all there including the transfers, but more importantly the roof. It has had the vents fitted and the sprue with the periscopes is also there along with some of the etchings. If it is of interest to you then I can send it all to you. I think I also have a couple of SR CCTs (Parkside), that are also sat there doing nothing but some of the brake gear might not  be there. I'll check on that later today. If interested PM me and I am sure we can come to some sort of arrangement.

Just checked the masses and found the Parkside CCT's Ex. SECR Parcels Vans). They seem to be more complete than I thought and also came across an  unopened pack of Ratio coach seating plus 1 sprue. If of use to you let me know and I'll put them to one side for you..
