Hi Guys
Modelling  street tramway means having to build a lot of your stuff yourself so I end up looking for all kinds of things. Right now I need to source some 27inch diameter wheels in 4mm (so that means 9mm) for some 4 ft bogies. I can get away with piano wire for the axles but not having a lathe it would be better if there are some ready made ones out there. As I use twin rail and overhead I do not need any of the wheels to be insulated.
I am planning to use some of Nigel Lawtons micro motors with belt drive to get bogies which will fit in the small space under the tram without protruding into the lower saloon so I need one end of the axle at least to be without a wheel in order that I can fit the drive pulley (or gear wheel if I can get anything small enough) without having to remove a wheel first.

So If anyone has a source for 9mm wheels and relevant axles can you please let me know.

Hi Jim,

HO 33" freight wheels scale to 28.8" in 4mm. I use Reboxx, comes with non-insulated or half insulated axles. Doubt you'll find them in the UK.

I have some 9mm spoked wheels. Look like Romfords (packaged as Wrightlines).

The other possible source that comes to mind is Branchlines.

John in the previous post suggested http://www.markits.com/ and they certainly do have them but it takes a lot of digging through their catalogue (LOADS of usefull kit :mrgreen: :mrgreen:) to find them.
