Cover the suction inlet inside the trap with some filter material.
Cut and fit a blank cap insert from 100 thou plastic card. Depending on the OD of the inlet hose drill a whole .5mm less in diameter.
Assemble connect to a vacuum cleaner have fun
Oh the spoil in the trap can be reused what a result.

I know it pre-supposes you already have a household vacuum cleaner, I had to ask SWMBO and she showed me how to switch it on. Did you know they have to be plugged in?

No they don't Doug! This is mine - a genuine 'Hoover' - rechargeable, and only £5 at a car boot. The small nozzle is ideal for small areas' and spaces, and the residue is all recoverable.Did you know they have to be plugged in?
A bonus it that with the larger pick-up it keeps the work area tidy, and saves having to utilize the domestic one (and her vacuum cleaner)
Even brand new I think they are a fairly reasonable £15 - £20.
