has anyone knowledge of fitting/using battery power, fitted in a locomotive as an alternative to powering the track ?.

Think you asked about this some years ago, but nobody on here appears to have tried battery power.

If your thinking of using RC to control the locos, I believe Deltang are one of the main controller makes and there are two suppliers online.

Some threads on RMweb about this over the years - it is a very interesting possibility with several false starts and I suspect it won't be until one of the majors takes an interest in it that things will progress.
