Sorry the late reply, for some reason I'm didn't get any email alerts.

The boards are MDF, but surprisingly not that heavy.

I'm hoping to finish the middle board BB021 today, but domestic duties keep getting in the way.

Sealing the wood with some undercoat and I've some cork coming to cover the base.

Really like these baseboards.

Hi Ed,

Are they T-TRAK modules?

Hi Nigel

They're similar, but T-Trak modules are a different size and are designed for Kato N scale track pieces.

Hi Ed,

I do T-TRAK as well as N-TRAK, hence the question - they do look similar. My T-TRAK module is a triple. The club I belong to has N-TRAK and T_TRAK sections.

Hi Nigel

I think T-TRAK is a great idea if your short of space and are able to contribute to a large club layout.

Unfortunately there don't appear to be many UK clubs involved in this type of layout building.

The N gauge society Yorkshire Area Group are probably one of the main ones.

The baseboards are connected with 8mm bolts, which are a bit small in my opinion, unless your not going to move it all around very much.

The large hole is for wiring etc.

It is level, although the cheap paste table I bought to support it has a rather uneven hardboard top.

The cork I bought to cover the top isn't quite big enough, so some more is on order.

I think I might start a plank layout thread to continue this, as I think the 'Moment of Madness' has passed and I'm just hooked on a new project.

Mad moments can lead to greater things, such as a new plank layout, so not so much a folly now Ed  :thumbsup1:

Congrats!

Bill

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Never mind Ed - Monday tomorrow and the shops will be open again ……………………..

I don't think we can get Copydex here in France.  I've usually used PVA but you'll never get the cork off again ………………:08twitch_2:

I was think of using PVA Peter as I have plenty of it, but I like to use Copydex as I use it to stick the track as well. Make it easy to lift the track if you want to make changes.

I also wonder if, because PVA dries hard, you lose some of the sound deadening effect of the cork Ed…..   At least Copydex remains 'flexible'.

Your probably right about the sound deadening Peter.

The Copydex arrived late yesterday courtesy of Amazon and I've stuck the last piece of cork down this morning.

Track laying next, but I'm out all day today so maybe tomorrow.
