There doesn't appear to be much interest in the members selecting a Picture of the Month so I'll ask the question here -

Should we continue with the current system or should we leave it to Alan (Spurno) to choose the header photo.

I would keep going Peter, it adds a bit of fun. I think at the moment just about everybody is off doing other things while they can, after being locked up for so long ? I know I am !  I think as we go into Autumn/ winter it will pick up again
Cheers

I'm very happy to continue Matt - if the members actually want to.

I take your point about reduced activity during summer/after lock downs and I did also wonder how big a part that was playing.

Thank you again Peter for running this feature

I am afraid I have been guilty of not exercising my democratic rights:oops: â€¦â€¦â€¦.I wonder if it would be possible to have a vote reminder posted as a sticky a week before the deadline?
Best wishes from a hot and smoky Vancouver

Petermac, I think to vote, you need to in the last week of the month, you create a poll of nominated photos so all can vote against them.

Keep it. I may not vote correctly but I enjoy seeing what people find. There is a diverse resource on here but not all of it is known.
I like the poll idea…

I'm with all the other "keepers", Peter.  It's helped me re-look at some fine layouts as well as congratulating current modellers.  We might just need to keep reminding members to vote, but I think it still well worth doing.

Peter Would you like me to set a reminder to remember to remind you to remember to remind members to remember to vote ?
or will you remember to remind yourself ?   :hmm

Am I missing something ?

There have been 373 views of this thread but only 10 votes cast …………………………….  :brickwall

For those 10 members who voted,  we will continue with the current system of members nominating and voting for Picture of the Month - for the time being anyway ……………………….. :hmm

Hi Peter
I doubt if more than 10% of the views were actual members. The open forum concept tends to distort responses.

Having said that I do agree that the lack of participation in the monthly picture concept is disappointing ………..it must be particularly frustrating for you and Matt.

I have been reading again posts from 10 years ago and the contrast in the level of enthusiasm is striking. However there is little merit in trying to turn the clock back. Tomorrow I will be proposing (and voting for) my. Selection for September…….I will also be encouraging fellow members to vote.

Hopefully the fall will see additional activity and a revival of interest in the picture of the month.
