As a descent citezen i have to ask on behalf of all model figures did you make sure they where anesthetise well. I mean the pain if they where awake but beyond words :D :D :D Mindue you would make a good plastic surgeon. Phill
Let's try and keep to the point chaps else I can see this article wandering all over the place. Yes, I know I helped, should have known better.
Having recovered from their recent surgery I decided to paint the two figures. I used exactly the same method as described in"Painting Dapol Figures Part 2" and so I will not repeat all of that. I knocked up a loco cab out of scrap plastic card, based on a small tank loco shape (no laughing please) as a setting for the figures:
Using both figures it would be possible to have a crew of two, with one each side of the cab. Well, as you can see converting figures is actually quite simple and once painted I think they will add life to a layout. :)
What a transformation, they look reallly cool standing there. Cant belive how you manged to do that. Mindue i do think those horby figures i got with the starter set is a tad too small to have a go. Phill
Superb job Bob your tutorials are making great reading and i actually bought a set of Dapol figures last week due to reading your threads. And when i start them i will be looking very closely at these threads how to do it. well done
I think the initial request for help here was down to me so thanks a million Bob. I shall be getting some and putting them on the agenda (which seems to get longer and longer with very little action).
I am sure you could, but I am taking a break from figure cutting and painting for a bit. The ladder on your silo must be ripe for a figure scaling it though

OH WOW!!! I never thought of that!! Great Idea!
I could have the "Family" looking up with the kid climbing. Now that's some serious surgery.
You can also get them to lean by cutting a V shape in the stomach and bending them over. If you are worried about a knife then use a v or triangle shaped small file.
