could some one please tell me how to wire this board up.all points/turnouts and all slips are insul frog. the double slip is orange, the single slips are red,all R/H points/turnouts green, the L/H is yellow. the track is joined with metal rail joiners. all tracks are live.I had a test run and found when I connected power to one track, all tracks were live from one spot. the lay out is dc controlled.
all advice accepted with gratitude

hi Alan
my electrics knowledge is virtually nil, others have always helped me with that.i can't even remember what switches i need half the time.the one bit i do know is regards your two green points,r/h points.the two points motors need to be wired to one switch so they operate in opposite directions.ie.upper and lower track open or upper and lower track joined through the points.as for the slips i'm not sure as i've got long crossings and my points are electrofrog and i don't know what difference that makes if any.perhaps Trevor(chinahand) will come across your thread,he helped me with mine.it's all looking very impressive.

Hi Alan.

You say it is all 'live' when you connect it up so I'm not sure what you want to achieve.

Do you want to break it down into separate blocks ? If so, all you need to do is fit insulated rail joiners at each break at run a separate power supply to that section via a switch.

If you want a good guide to wiring for DC Control have a look at Brian Lamberts web site here http://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/Electrical.htm#Wiring.

hi Alan

Trevor beat me to the advice about Brian Lambert's site but it is very informative.BTW,about that picture i mentioned on your other thread,i think it shows the trackwork you are modelling.

Hi Trevor, my aim is to have 4 trains running at once on the main lines  2 on the relief and 2 on the fast lines which has a double slip and two single slips connected to each other to form the cross over.
Thanks for the info the more the merrier
